  1. Not just club GM's but esports-wise as well. It would be so much easier for everyone (NG Staff, players, teams, sponsors, organisations behind teams, companions) if you'd know when the next tourney even starts. Sure NHLGamer has said it out loud why this is the case: "we dont want to promise or say anything what isn't confirmed" etc. Sure, I'm not saying that this isn't the case or truth here but atleast the schedule of next ECL should be public information as it is "the major" thing of the whole sport. And I'm pretty sure NG agrees with this. Tbh it's really stupid, like literally stupid, that we as a players and management of the teams & esports organisations, and even companions around the sport dont have any clue when the next tournament or next ECL is set to be played. It's fun to have talks with people when all you can say about next major tournament is that "it probably will be played in the next 6-9 months." We all know that the direction is right here, no doubts about that. But this is one very important thing that needs to be fixed in the future. Maybe 2020? 🤭

  2. Hello, and greetings here from the very much too early end of the season party Could you...NG consider of changing protocol a bit and start sharing your guesses from the future tournaments? Specially unofficial schedules / starting days / weeks / months / what ever.... It is of course fun to play!!! but main thing why i am asking, is that this is important info for many general managers. Knowing length of the off-season is important when doing plans on how to handle your roster. This effects on "staying alive" % of the club. If club plays ECL it is very different if off-season is 1 or 4 month. Not everyone want to play this game all year long. Who cares if someone gets pissed if you share some unofficial guesses of schedules and things don`t happen as planned. It may help many on their plans and team management. We have heard from you that: eSHL starts January(maybe replaced scl?) and: ECL (Europe - Q4 2019) NACL (North America - TBC) FCL (Finland - 2020) GCL (Germany - 2020) RCL (Russia - October 14th, 2019) SCL (Sweden - 2020) Soooo here we go to the first attempt .... Can you make unofficial guess of when will next ECL happen? Or some other European wide tournament? Br, Kose

  3. I don't think anyone has anything against Fila or LHC. What we are talking about is that the swedish community became very excited about a swedish league. Considering how the rules for SCL, RCL and GCL are, many got disappointed. And the hype for local teams went down, and I am just talking about the expectations for a swedish league. And the recurring question, how will this be different from ECL Elite(some team from pro..)? And when the limit of teams for this league is so low, it does it even more harder for the swedish community to get involved.

  4. Could you maybe some year perhaps do them national leagues at same time. Then there would be no need or interest to participate other than your national league. It would leave more time to arange ECL tournamets as well.

  5. Thanks for the valid feedback. This is something we've wanted to improve as well and the original plan was to release a quite extensive plan in August. There were some changes that forced us to move and realign a lot of the puzzle pieces, as getting everything to work together and be as inclusive as possible is something we put a lot of effort into. Below is some high level information about the planned timing of the upcoming leagues, but please take it with a grain of salt, as things are very much work-in-progress. Fact: eSHL Q1 GCL Q1 Absolutely not confirmed: FCL Q1 ECL Q2 SCL Q2 NACL TBC RCL TBC (TBC = to be confirmed, will happen - could be Q1, could be Q2 etc.) Again, please don't treat these as facts, please don't share them as facts. Thank you. 👋🏼

  8. Huge thanks @Kenu from your super quick response !!! I value this and keep in mind that plans and timings can change. But its good that now i can inform my team that it is likely that FCL is next on line before ECL. I believe that seeing this makes some Finns who have signed to be a free agent in eSHL think it twice. And of course GMs of those eSHL teams too. I believe that if possible, this could be a good unofficial forum for NG admins to inform us if some plans get confirmed on your work list. Or changed. For excample; "next (in about 1-2 week, we plan to start working to set up FCL... More info probably in 2-3 weeks." "Or we have to cancel FCL / move FCL to Q2... more info coming later"... Or stuff like that... it would be appreciated.

  9. Transfer rules with the purpose of preventing players from participating in different tournaments with different teams within a short timespan would be great news. Both the longevity and stability of the clubs would benefit from this and has always been a major issue in EASHL with a few exceptions. Then there’s the players who invest a lot of their time in teams just to be sidelined by some random fellow at the last minute. Seen this happening way to many time over the years to good, honest people which eventually lead to them dropping their interest in the game all together. You may call me old fashioned but I do miss the days when rivalry’s and team dedication actually mattered and meant something, in real sports and EASHL. In the real world there’s at least contracts, transfer rules and common sense as to how the core of your team is built with a large majority of the team being from the country it functions from.

  10. One thing is fact for sure, LHC got awesome group of guys to work with. I've waited this day, well deserved! Y'all need to chill and get your ass down. I hope people are happy with SHL even investing to this at first place. Give them time to learn things, that's the part of the process, you usually learn from mistakes you do at season number one. And hey, we can't really talk or even hope SHL teams doing things with long term right from the start since the future for eSHL is kinda unknown, right? I see SHL teams have used kinda different and careful angles when creating a teams for eSHL, maybe they learn something from this, as I said. If you close Swedish Leagues from Finnish People, or start blackmail people with new transfer rules (so they don't wanna move), then Finnish Leagues will be (need to be) closed from Swedish players aswell. I don't wanna see that, best for the NHLGamer would be that the everyone has possibility to participate. Some kind of roster limits for foreign players in both, Sweden and Finnish League would be easiest and maybe best solution, imo. I still wanna hug @ICappeI or maybe even @jtorro1233 in Finland after Finals and so on. And I still wanna have a chance to go play with awesome Swedes if some team gives me that opportunity! Heja AIK! Heja Malmö! In FCL/eSM there is 99% sure a rule about Swedish orgs. not allowed to participate but it will be probably solved if LHC is FILA and Luleå is NOR, for example. Since you can do new team for those tourneys. My point is, at the moment all the SHL teams with few Finnish players are in good situation since they can participate to every tournament they want and use the same roster all the time. It's good for LHC/FILA at competitive wise and it's not their fault. I just want the game to be fair for everyone, what comes about that who is allowed to participate different tournaments and who is not and etc... There is good talk going on and you can see people care about this, I really hope this thing will go on with a bang! And be even more bigger in future seasons. Just, don't bury it before it even started.

  11. When organisations such as SHL take on projects like these it’s aim is long term. It is impossible for anyone to predict the outcome but the aim of such an investment will always be long term. Why? Because there are no short-term benefits to be had. With that being said, do you think representing 2 esports-organisations at the same time helps the league to be viewed as serious for external sponsors etc?

  16. Honestly I thought eSHL was going to be long term national league that would help Swedish NHL community to grow and bring more Swedish teams to other tournaments aswell, maybe to ’’chase the dream to play in your favourite club someday’’… Well I quess it’s still possible, most likely not in Linköping so soon tho :D. The nature of true eSports is to get the best players to make maximum money for the organization (business). Like Manchester City eSports getting every Chinese magic finger they can find. But it’s pretty clear money involved in this isn’t so much that it can be the reason. Hockey is one of the traditional sports that is loosing viewers to eSports. This ofc is a great way for SHL to market their teams and league to new audience. Linköping has chosen to do it through success. I’ve seen some eSHL teams recruiting players through tryouts which is nice and different. Maybe some local heroes will take them to success (romance). Hope the league will be well balanced and long lasting. Anyway, it’s forward for the community. Let’s see how it developes.

  17. First reaction is the same as many others had - why is there no rules on how many users from other nations can join? Lets not forget that in real hockey there is line changes, some lines might have couple foreign players, but I´m willing to bet that if multiple Swedish teams in the real league has close to 3 lines of Finnish/other nationality players in the team while the Swedish players take a back seat, Swedish hockey association is not going to be too pleased. I don´t truly get why do you need to have SHL, as in another league where everybody can join? Basically the same product as ECL, but with different team names?Maybe other teams are building with Swedish players mostly and have couple other nationalities in there? Entertainment value for neutral viewers is not that high in my opinion, ECL elite teams fighting in different league to see who is the best - again. Same players, same lines - nothing changes? Icing on the cake, Linköping goes and gets FILA - perhaps the early favorites to win it and brings them over. Yes, great that there is top teams and players in the league, but who is going to watch? Who is this for? With my quick math only two Swedish players can be seen playing for Linköping. Perhaps Swedish players learn better by watching? Nothing says lets bring Swedish hockey into bigger window than getting a Finnish team steamroll the league, lets go!

  19. Congratz boys! (I'm too lazy to read) but for how long? Kenu told us that swedish based organizations can't participate in eSM, FCL and IS - so what's the plan about that? Will Bert Robertsson be there at the live-event? Have they tested Surströmming yet?! Cloetta choklad till man of the match?

  21. 100% agree. For me that’s a problem, now just watch other teams follow suit or fill their squads with Finnish players to bolster their chances. It all equals to another tournament similar to ECL, a blow to player growth in Sweden and my guess would be a less exciting product for the local Swedish viewers. To be perfectly honest i can’t get my head around to as why you would even want to participate in a Swedish league with a fully fledged finnish team, absurd.

  22. Swedish hockey league Edit: Can't see the point of having a swedish league without the rules that only allows 1-2 foreign players on the ice, as in the german and russian league and as we had in the earlier swedish league? Isn't this just going to give us a another european league with fewer teams? Edit 2.0 (since I am not allowed to comment on this site any more) Edit by Admin: Sorry, accidentally had you assigned to the wrong user group! Should be fixed now! Exactly. The swedish community, and some others, was very excited when the word about a swedish league came out. The disappointment when we realized that this is just another european league just killed the hype. I know many people outside this community that thougt it would be fun to follow a swedish league with the swedish teams. Ridiculous many say.. Most of this comes from the side that not belongs to the top-swedish teams. The side that was supposed to growth and bring new audience(?). Agree. Why have different leagues as rcl gcl shl and ecl if they all will look the same? Pointless..

  29. Well I mean.. Wouldn’t any team, in any league, in any country, aim for the best players regardless of their ethnicity? I do understand your point but then again, what’s the actual problem? Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t most of the SHL teams as of now still mainly 70%~ Swedish? Like, imagine a scenario where the ”real” hockey team based in Linköping (or anywhere else) had a chance to either roster a Swedish player whose not so talented - or a player of other ethnicity whos really talented to raise their chances of success? Idk, maybe I’m wrong.
