NHL 19 Tuner Rollback (Limited duration)

    NHL_19_Tuner_Rollback.jpg

    Hey NHLGamers,

As you've probably heard by now, EA will be having a tuner rollback to the Beta Tuner for a limited duration of time. That rollback has now gone live and will take place between Friday, January 18th (11:00 CET) and Friday, January 25th (11:00 CET). EA is also issuing a tuner feedback survey for the duration of the rollback, you will find a link in-game and on Twitter.

Please see EA's previous announcement and the full 'changelog' below:

    Quote

    Hey everyone,

Before the holidays begin, we just wanted to provide everyone with an update around NHL 19, and more specifically the feedback we have been hearing around the gameplay.

Over the past few months, we have been seeing a lot of people on all channels asking for us to revert to Beta tuners as they enjoyed the game better during that time frame. While we believe that the current gameplay has a lot of improvements from launch, we also recognize that there could be areas of gameplay that you preferred better in the past.

As a result, in mid-January we are going to be rolling back to the Beta Tuner for a limited time to get your feedback on what you like/dislike about the Beta Tuner compared to the current gameplay tuner. Please note that this will undo some of the positive changes that we’ve seen from the community, so you’ll be seeing some of the following occur again:

    • Poke checks will be more sensitive and cause more tripping penalties
    • AI goaltending performance will be different
    • The ability to drop your stick
    • Increase in incidental contact strength (bumps)
    • Decrease in penalties from stick lifts

After we change back from the tuner, we will be posting a feedback survey to gather your thoughts, likes, and dislikes on the Beta tuner.

While it is a little while until the tuner goes live, we wanted to provide you with an update as we know how passionate you are about the product. Once we get closer to the date of the tuner, we will provide an update with more information and details on what is happening, when it’s happening, and what you can expect.

Thank you for your dedication and feedback throughout NHL 19 and we hope everyone has a happy holidays!

    - The EA SPORTS NHL Team

So, what do you guys think about the rollback? It surely brings some spice to the ongoing season, where the game will have a completely different feel for the coming week. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

I also think a large part of the issue is the discrepancy between what top players want and what most of the (mostly NA) community in the EA forums wants.

Lovely. NHL 19 1.00 was probably the all-time best version of the NHL series.

"Limited duration" is a shame though.

Actually, I'd like to revise my comment. This gameplay is not 1.00 but some Frankenstein-y version of it.

Reverting to the 1.00 tuner while keeping all the changes caused by game updates is a weird approach of comparing the "old" NHL 19 to the "new" NHL 19.

This is what i mean, that does EA have any vision of their own what they want NHL series to be like, or are they always going to go with whatever their forums think? And how do they differentiate right feedback from wrong then?

Listening to players is one thing, but to hit reset button (even if only temporarily) like this and hope for different feedback than last time is going overboard.

This tuner is Shite! EA should bring us the old tuner back right away, if you can't even bring the "real" v.1.0 tuner back or you still haven't found a fix for the dressing room error.
I wonder if the Americans have this error, I highly doubt it. The good news is, only 4 days left on this test period.

Dear, Mr. Ramjagsingh, Kenu and illuminati🔺, ja ketä muita näitä nyt oli,

I know you are reading nhlgamer.com🌚.

Please, before you bring any new hybrid tuners or updates to this wonderful game of yours, FIX the **** Dressing room error!

Anyway, about this new so called "beta tuner". First of all this is NOT the one we had in beta. Also the skating was changed in an update, not a tuner.
really wonder, why did you **** this up as well?

My personal thoughts about the BETA tuner:

-It's way too easy to defend now, even our ripuli (💩) team can now somehow defend against much better teams (elite). Something is definitely wrong 😅.

-Stick checking is a joke, you can lift the stick even from behind and it's ridiculously effective.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but man it's hard to protect the puck more than couple of seconds now. But I bet our young superstars agree on this one. (Or maybe it's just me and I suck *ss).

-Poke checking might be more realistic..But I think tha it's unbalanced compared to stick lifting. It is really hard to use poke check without getting a tripping penalty

-Skating, is it me or why does skating still feel so bad or why does it feel so sluggish? How hard can it be to make it slightly smoother or faster?

-Now this game feels like 50% Ice hockey and 50% fencing.

The last tuner was much better in my opinion, even though the skating feels super sluggish in that one as well.  It was close to being perfect", would just ned a couple of minor tweaks.

    Thänks!

    Sincerely yours,

    Säm

good points but we are playing NHL19 and the old tuner is 99% like NHL18 and that why i dont like it. i really hope they keep this new tuner so we can play "new game" and not always the same EA bullshit changing the game to old settings.

    - Its samething every year. WUHUU new game.. and after 2months we are playing the same game than last year. so if u dont know how to play NHL19 go back to NHL18 :D :D and remember little humor ;) :D

Can you kindly tell us how to play this NHL correctly since you seem to be such a pro at it. :)

Pointing to the team so head and shoulders above everyone else as proof that the tuner is good is a pretty poor argument, in fact all it shows, if anything, is that Written's players are so good that it doesn't even matter what tuner they're on since they'll still dome your ass anyway.

well thats true, but when u have talent to adapt it doesnt matter whats the tuner is. my point here is that im done playing the same game every year. i hate the old tuner because its NHL18 and i wanna play NHL19.

I like the latest tuner better than the beta one. The beta tuner has more randomness. I hope whatever middle ground they may find with a new tuner, it's going to be closer to the current latest one than the beta.

How is the old tuner NHL 18 though? It has nothing in common with 18. 18 was an awful delayfest in all regards.

They got their first loss with the „new old“ tuner, so yeah that makes sense.

im not only talking about  6on6 games. 1on1 versus was 99% like in nhl18 or 17. we had the new skating, but they even removed that? now in the latest tuner we have that skating again. I hate it when they do this every f time. i understand that it sucks for people that practise and all the hard work is gone. i play 6on6 games for "fun" even our team is trying to win the games we play. it doestn matter if our team looses a game because of this tuner, im still having more fun in the game than in the old tuner. that is just my opinion.

The skating is literally the same now (tuner rollback) as it was last week, there's no difference whatsoever. The skating changes occurred through the patches that EA released, aka something the tuners cannot touch. So when you say "now in the latest tuner we have that skating again", I'm sorry but all you are feeling at the end of the day is a placebo.

i can say u 100% that its not placebo that i feel. maybe u dont feel it in the 6on6 games, but in 1on1 games there is huge difference. i dont know what is the right word in english but the player moves more "kuutiomaisesti" now. so its easier to proteck the buck now when u know how to use the skating proberly.
