NHL 19: Tuner Update Status Check

    Hi NHLGamers!

Thanks for all the constructive feedback provided during the NHL 19 Beta tuner rollback. The devs have been working hard at improving the experience for us and announced that a new tuner will be out ASAP. The original release time was on Friday, January 25th at approximately 11 CET. Due to a problem with the new update, the team made a choice not to yet release a potentially problematic tuner. No new time has been announced, but we will be awaiting more information. The new tuner update, somewhat confusingly named 1.03 will be applied to online modes first and rolled out to offline modes in the coming weeks after that.

Here is a changelog of what will have changed:

    • AI skaters will not perform defensive actions against active puck carriers
      • The Beta Tuner Rollback allowed this for the first 2-4 frames, which is why people saw the change in the AI

Note: the AI will maintain their skating aggression and positioning from the roll back as people preferred it as opposed to the past gameplay tuner

    • AI skaters will not commit penalties in Online VS or HUT
    • Reduced the chance ai skaters will put the puck over the glass for delay of game penalties in World of Chel
    • Added back in the forehand stick lift faceoff win speed increase
    • Added in the fix to the energy regained at the whistle so that we see more realistic rolling of lines

Many players commented that they felt they were able to stack their lines to use their top players more frequently, which provided less of a realistic experience.

    • Tuning fixes for AI Goalie logic for when to play the puck out of their net

Sometimes goalies were getting a little too aggressive; this will help prevent that

    • Added back in consistency for user goalies to transition to post hug at extreme facing directions
    • Tuned back in the penalty logic changes around trips
    • Tuned back in the pokecheck accuracy improvements
    • Split the difference on the stick lift penalty tuning so it will be between Tuner 1.00 and Tuner 1.03

A majority of the community mentioned that while stick lifts were too strong in the Beta Tuner, they were also causing too many penalties in 1.03 which made them less effective. This change should help find the proper balance for them.

    • Added back in puck pickup tuning fixes
    • Tuning out dropped and broken sticks again in online modes
    • Added back in the tuning to increase loose puck deke success
    • Tuned back in the changes to lower goalies’ ability to react to passes as quickly when they aren’t reading pass
    • Tuned back in fix to lower assistance on goalie passes
    • Finally, we split the difference between Tuner 1.00 and Tuner 1.03 on the incidental puck loss distance tuning but keeping the low relative speed hitting tuning from 1.00

This will help address the complaints we saw in Tuner 1.03 around players being unable to bump players off the puck at low speeds in the corner, but reduce the amount of incidental contact puck loss that we also saw complaints about from Tuner 1.00

I'm sure they have somekind of backup file from the "original" tuner. Why they don't just put that on for the timebeing. The game would be playable..

EA NHL are idiots. We all have been waiting for them to get there s%$t together from the first day this game went online play. They spend time and money on all this BS of coaching and player's choices and lives in pro mode....This game should be split. One game for the true hockey people who just want to play vs humans 6v6, 4v4, 1v1v1....One game for all the SIMs want to be a pro and toxic hut players. Make one Hut, Fut, Mut disc with all 3 toxic money stealing crap game mode play. Then EA you have 2 tuners, One for the real hockey playing fans, and the hut BS for the idiots donating money to EA for shitty games. EA how long are you going to steal money from your customers, why cant we have another hockey game developed by a better company? EA you F up all your shooter games, you pick all over hockey and other sports.....EA you will die once a firm cracks a new hockey playing system. I would play the old button style with no skill sticks if I knew it would put EA under. The mechanics in the game have improved, but everything in this game is a few years behind. Screw EA, I own a business, if I pulled this crap with my customers.....I mean no one really can except these game makers, and these devs....have you ever skated? Do you see the mechanics that go down in these games? Goals counting that go in from outside the net, goalies have been improved.....but are about 3 years if not more behind the rest of the game, EA is crap!

Hmm... does this mean that there will be no change to number of lucky bounce goals? At the time off beta tuner roll back number of insane bouncing goals has been ridiculous.
