ECL 4 - Playoff pairs (Round 1), summary of the regular season

    pos.png.492be7f847467c626dc80143f673e89d.png

    Hello NHLGamers,

With the regular season behind us, we now shift our focus on the playoffs. This time around in addition to fighting for the championship, teams will also try to avoid relegation and secure promotions to higher divisions for ECL5.

Before announcing the playoff parings for the first round, we need to note that some teams weren't able to play all of their regular season games, forcing us to issue walkover wins/losses.

In each respective case the League Administration took into consideration the availability, communication and attempts to reschedule the games from both sides.

    Here are the final rulings:

    • Unplayed games between "Clowns On Ice" and "Ice Phoenix" - two WO losses for both teams.
    • Unplayed games between "Origins" and "The Lights Out" - two WO wins for Origins.
    • Unplayed games between "Huppati HC" and "Company Of Geeks" - two WO wins for Huppati HC.
    • Unplayed games between "Inter Iceland" and "Thunder Tigers" - two WO wins for Inter Iceland.
    • Unplayed games between "Written In The Stars" and "Aapon Taikasauva" - two WO losses for both teams.

After applying all the WO rulings, here's the summary for each division:

Sadly some teams have abandoned the tournament. Due to this there are 16 teams in one group and 14 in the other. In order to make the current playoffs format work, we've decided to merge both Lite groups, sort teams by PPG and automatically advance the two teams with the highest PPG to the second round.

    Playoffs

Hawks Hockey Club and DEAD END KINGS - both automatically advance to the second round.

    EN HUND vs. Blues HC
    J P T J vs. A Dream Valhalla

Sharpen your skates as the playoffs will start on the 3rd of April and the first round of the playoffs is to be played 03.04 - 09.04., best of seven.

    Good luck!

It has nothing to do with the fact that you as a LA should stand for LA decisions and not blame your fellow LA-colleagues. You can still motivate decisions without excusing yourself. I know, cause I too have been tgma. You can ask @iSvamp if I stood by the rules and decisions or not.

So if I understand you correctly...you had no answer and no arguments to my post, except trying to undermine my credibility by bringing up last playoffs (where you are dead wrong...but I won't baited into a lengthy discussion about that, except I told LA weeks before the situation and got the go ahead which was then retracted) and also declaring I have done nothing for the community?

I see Kenus quality control when bringing in new LAs hade taken a dive lately :/

I would join...but only if some of you leave.

I'm not blaming anyone. Am I now not allowed to share my own point of view as someone who has played goalie? People were asking for more insight on the whole ruling. I provided it. I'm more than standing by it.

BTW, I'm still yet to hear a proper explanation for the circus stream Synergy orchestrated during those playoffs. Anyway, it's past. Plenty of people saw the "Synergy" way of handling things. It is what it is.

If it's me who's preventing you from joining - I will quit this very moment. I already considered stepping down few weeks earlier after receiving plenty of shit and toxicity from this community. It sure gave me plenty of reasons to reconsider my further involvement in this project (doesn't really make much sense to devote my free time developing things for these kind of people). I moved past it and continued contributing, but if this is the way you see things - I'm fine with leaving.

He did, they got some WO wins against laser in that playoff. Pelle wanted to give everyone AIDS in synergy and Kimmo said he would never ever play again in Synergy Hockey. BUT, Mördarelefanten a.k.a Egyptologen stood up for his decision, like he said 20 minutes ago.
And as you see, they're friends now. Even tho TGMA in that tournament were dickheads, or rulebook-hitlers.

    :ph34r::x

PS: I survived that tournament aswell from suspensions.

Haha...I wasnt a part of the decision though. We had a policy not to be part of any situations regarding our team.

However, I do wonder...theoretically, if I would join LA, that means you quit this tournament and move to Xbox One right? :D I mean that is what you told Billy...and even when questioned about it you swore thats what you would do! Maybe someone in NN can sponsor a LA campaign for me?

So our goalie play aggressive and its our goalies fault that he frozed ? This decision is a joke. Sry LA but are you really that stupid with all respect ofc ? LA made easy and WRONG decision. NL scored goal because goalie was frozed for while. Thats a fact. Whats comes to fair play rule obviously thats not fair. So LA mates if u feel rules arent important then plz leave. Peace and love

It is honestly very sad to read this kind of stuff (mostly from a very few selected people as well).

First of all, if anyone ever backed LA decisions during this tournament it is @OxtreeLAT, even when his very own team was affected by them. Also, I don't see how he blamed me and the other members here by saying his own opinion differs from the team's decision. Opinions - how do they work?

As he pointed out already, there are a couple of aspects to this game that will always lead to controversial discussions, because we are not able to cover and resolve them in a way that makes all people happy.

I really appreciate that personal attack of yours against everyone involved in the website though, as it finally reveals you're only here to cause damage. It takes more than witty comments to run the project besides all the full-time jobs we carry out. My personal opinion: You would not be able to perform your tasks as a Staff member for more than 2 weeks.

    Best wishes.

I can understand you are not happy with the decision as it affects your team, but I can assure you we don't take decisions like these lightly, because they are the most difficult ones to make. Basically, we need to figure out what precedent each possible decision sets for the future, and which one causes less harm. Tell me: Do you think the comment section would be less energetic if we went the other route?

Sometimes I wish people were able to turn down their initial anger and reflect on all the other things that belong to these decisions first, before starting to post personal attacks just because they are not pleased.

I see LA made decision what cause less harm but then you should change rules. Delete fair play rule. LA cant always do decisions what cause less harm as it breaks rules. So thats ridiculous part. Rules say you cant score if goalie is frozen. But this desicion was easy as u said it cause less harm just blame goalie but it had anything to do with rules.

100% agree with you @gzell60. Running a tournament of the size as big as ECL is not a easy thing. Let alone running it on your leisure time while working full time or studying. What comes to decision making, someone will always feel they got cheated. The staff is doing their best being as fair to everyone as possible. As many of them has stated repeatedly over the course of the tournament: Every decision of every violation etc is being made with extreme consideration. We all need to realize that the staff is not favoring anyone. Some may disagree with me and everyone's entitled to their own opinions, of course. But if I'm wrong and favoritism really does exists among the staff members, isn't it just a good thing decisions are being made by majority vote?

The bottom line is, whoever is calling the shots, there will ALWAYS be someone complaining and it's completely fine! However, most of us are grown up people and should know how to act like one. Offending other people is just childish and doesn't lead to anything. There are people who voluntarily arrange this tournament many times a year on yearly basis so that we'd have a place to compete in. Without Kenu & co. the EASHL community would be awful lot smaller than it's is today - and a lot boring... But I agree that user feedback is important and necessary for the growth of the ECL. As long as we keep it decent and remember to respect each other.

This was just my humble opinion.

This is really awkward. I have never been anything but constructive when giving you guys feedback. I have always motivated my opinions and supported them with facts. I might have expressed myself in a way you dont like but never have I just threwn accusitions against you.

Even now...although you are just throwing out accusations like I just want to harm the community, I wouldnt last as LA etc, without supporting this with real arguments, I will respond constructively.

Yes opinions are subjective but saying you are against a decision not only undermines the credibility of the decision but also creates a feeling of unfairness. You are more than welcome to provide a case where one "judge" explains he is against the decision and it actually helps people.

Again it is not about making people happy!

Why do you have rules Gzell? You have rules so people know how to behave and what to expect. Sometimes decisions are hard...sometimes they are wrong, but never should they lack support in the rules. You have made several decisions not supported, the latest is handing out wo losses to Sky and Aapo.

I have laster longer than two weeks and although I made some pretty unpopular decisions, which some people still feel hurt by (not naming  names) ,they were all supported by rules.

Based on this...I feel sad when LA asks for constructive feedback but arent able to dispose them in a similar fashion.

    it's a game, not a dick - don't take it so hard.
    1. Come down from the pedestal, they don't want you as a LA member, "we" (many of us from the xbox-time) don't want you as a LA member. U had your chance, but you stepped down (?!), just stay there. people said that I was arrogant back in the days, but the way you just putted yourself on the ironthrone are hilarious.

    2. "Rules, rules, rules, rules, my rulebook said, in my rulebook blah blah, blah, I did this and you did that, but my rulebook says like this blah, blah, blah" <--- That's maybe your biggest problem, after me-_-. How do you do when u drive? you go forward when u get's green light even if it is a kid in front of you, just b/c you are allowed to do so? Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me.

    3. "I feel sad when LA asks for constructive feedback but arent able to dispose them in a similar fashion" - Constructive feedback are good, but you are fucking everywhere, and you always starts with "number 2" in this list, I understands that people get's tired of it. AND YES - I'm also everywhere, but most of the times just b/c you and Pelle are there, (or that I get's mentioned without even participate from the first plays, like in this article, no fucking idea why you used me as a reference, probably cuz you wanted to start something - Like @Gzell said "it finally reveals you're only here to cause damage"),  cuz I know it hurts (inside-info from your skype-chat), you're welcome

    4. The biggest difference between you and me (a player that many of you in this league don't like) I know when to stop, but your repeat-button are fucking hilarious. And you're mostly serious in everything you writes, i'm just trolling or puts fuel to the fire - just to have something to read before I sleep.

Don't come and talk about non-motivated WO-wins, I know the history, and you're by far the most involved team concerning WO-wins in the past, and u didn't had the rulebook on your side in the last case.
    ;)

Good luck in the playoffs. Trevlig kväll
