    ECL 6 Lite: Season Preview

    lite_preview.png

    Hello and welcome everyone!

Let's start off by saying that we are both really happy to see so many new teams and it's also great to see a bunch of older teams sticking together!
Not too many seasons ago we used to have one big league with teams from all skill ranges. This resulted in some games ending 20-0 and it was not fun for the less skilled or new teams. Divisions were created to give you some good matches with even teams, as well as building sustainability to the whole league and it has been a great success as we now have over 60 teams participating in the Lite division and over 100 teams in the whole league.
It's great to have you all here, potentially fighting for that Pro promotion and eventually trying to reach the Elite division and win the grand prize. For other teams, the goal might be to do well in Lite and whatever your goals are, we hope you have a good and fun season with us this season.

We will have best coverage of any season so far with streams, hot/cold mid-season reports and many other news stories coming up. There's also a dedicated staff members this season for each division and for the ECL Lite it's @miisolegend, @Mannheimer1938, @ramseyy2 and @Snapster.

The official ways to contact your League Administration and get your cases solved as easily as possible are:
    - For all cases that needs to be solved you can open a ticket in the league administration section here.
    - If you make a mistake in the match report you must report it at the match report section.
Failure to report match report mistakes might lead to disciplinary actions. Please refrain from sending private messages as a way to reach the staff whenever you can use the above mentioned Helpdesk, as we are putting our efforts into handling your messages as a team effort.

Moving on to the Lite preview. There are so many new teams that there's bound to be lots of surprises along the way so if you are not
mentioned in the preview, please surprise us and put your teams name on the map during the season and prove us wrong! Here are
@miisolegend's top predicted teams in every Group:

    Group_1.pngGHETTO FIREBIRDS.png

    Group 1: Ghetto Firebirds
Former ECL Pro team Ghetto firebirds are back in Lite but are hungry to get back to Pro and prove they are worthy of the spot. Last season didn't really go as planned but I think this firebird will rise from the ashes and show that they still have the fire in them. Section K is a good runner up in this division but I still think that GF will rise on top with their good roster package and gained experience in the previous seasons.
    Player to watch: Vilze92

    Group_2.pngFreddie Mercury Institute.png

    Group 2: Freddie Mercury Institute
This team beats Pro teams consistently and has won pretty much every Lite team they have faced in recent games. When we (Korpens Finest) have played against FMI it has always been tight games because of their solid defense and skilled forwards. Definitely a team to watch out for!
    Player to Watch: Kickingapollo

    Group_3.pngStyle.png

    Group 3: Style
Two time OEHL champion (5vs5 scene) Swedish team Style plays aggressive hockey along with a good tight trap and they have that skill to make those 2 on 1 situations count. In my opinion Style will be one of the top contenders for a Pro promotion.
    Player to watch: Panarinz

    Group_4.pngBare Knuckles Hockey.png

This group was very hard to predict in terms of which team is going to go to the playoffs but there's one that stands out on top. I'd put my money on Bare Knuckles Hockey. Solid team with many seasons of experience in the ECL. If they can keep their game together they will definitely stand on top of this group
    Player to watch: GoDe45-

    Group_5.pngCowabunga Hockey.png

    Group 5: Cowabunga Hockey
This group seems to be the toughest on paper, having teams such as Saucer Hockey Ab and Soldiers of Odins in addition to Cowabunga Hockey. Cowabunga Hockey has been crushing some of the Lite teams like cockroaches and has beaten Pro teams and Elite teams alike during the off-season. Cowabunga is probably the number one contender for Pro. Offensively this is a really skilled team and they have one of the best, if not the best goalie in Lite.
    Player to watch: sokkelo__

    Group_6.pngSuomen Sonnit.png

    Group 6: Suomen Sonnit
This was also a hard group to predict with several skilled teams like HokiDogit and Finnish Hockey Legends, but I'm gonna predict Suomen Sonnit coming out on top here. We (Korpens Finest) have faced this team many times and they are good at playing high pressure hockey, leaving little to no room for your defenders to clear the puck. Easy plays by defenders and great goaltending on top of that and we can expect a good result. Pro team in ECL 7? Remains to be seen.
    Player to watch: tseikei

    Underdogs/Teams to watch
    1. Saucer Hockey Ab (Group 5)
    2. The Black Jacks (Group 3)
    3. EaLogic (Group 5)
    4. Korpens Finest (Group 3)
    5. Roistot (Group 2)
    6. Club de Caballeros (Group 3)

Feel free to comment and give your own opinion on the the subject in the comments section.
Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone in the following season. Let the games begin!

    Best Regards!

Hmm, i think we need some kind kindergarten division next season, Where teams / captains can learn how to manage a club. Dunno if lite group 2 is only, but we have every gameday same problem. 5min before game opponent says that ”one player is missing.” And It’s really frustrating. Most teams had 10+ players (2xG 3-5xD 4-6xF) and still same f*cking problem. Every time the same story: ”how someone’s cat has stuck in the tree and meanwhile one is trying to get the cat off the tree someone’s ice hockey stick has broke off and the controllers’ wires have tangeled and it’s impossible to figure out which wire belongs to each player. Finally, the story ends how one of the player has replaced the cat and is now stuck in the tree as well, and is unable to play the game.”

We should stick with the default times given by the league. Be there or give out walkovers. You dont reschedule real life beer league games just because "one of the players is missing" so why should you be able to do it in a eSports league which tries to be seriously taken. Every game is about 12 to 14 (depends if there are backups online too) players personal time scheduling. Could be that some of the players have had to make overtime at work, get a babysitter and so on just to be there. It is frustrating to see multiple times in a single season that it was all for nothing. Takes away the motivation more than anything else. As far as I consider it: This whole rescheduling option should be made more strict - one week earlier or no rescheduling at all.

If this league really wants to grow it will be streaming that does it. Audience also needs to know when the games are played and when not. Considering myself as an audience - I have no interest what so ever to try to hunt down game times when those change even on the last day/hour/minutes.

For your opponent it is nothing more than a total disrespect when teams are not showing when they have agreed to do so.

Tru, and respond to messages is way to hard also.

Also it would be nice if the team adds the stats/press conference as soon as possible. Sometimes I have to just wait for the other team when I would already like to move ahead and think about the upcoming games.

Bigger roster every team and no rescheduling option!

If we are going to take away the rescheduling option then we need to have later games. Almost everyone wants to play couple of games before the ecl-games. One hour before is "standard" and to start at 19 is little to early when almost everyone in your team has family and children. We can play that time, no problem. But it would be greater if it could be 1-2 hours later. Thats why we try to reschedule every game to one hour later.

This league consists players from western Europe to eastern Europe. 20.00 CET is a very good compromise. And it is a time we all know when we register our teams. It is a time accepted by us to be the gaming time. If the time is not good for me - it is mainly my own job to adapt. I cannot insist that my opponens adapts and play midnight or something like that. Of course I can always ask but if they are not willing - then game goes on at the default time set. If I cannot get my squad up - my opponent can rightfully take a walkover. If I know at start that I really can not meet the default times ever - should I then consider if this league is for me at all? I really cannot be that selfish that I think this world is turning because of me or my team and everything around will adapt if I just want so.

Exactly, thats why we need the rescheduling option. And it would be great if everybody could answer if they get a message and don't come 10 min before the game and say that they are missing some people when you have done everything to make it on time.

Exactly. But I mean if both teams wants to play later, then it is great that they can say it to each other. And not 10 min before the game.

I agree with you. As I said, no problem at all to have the games at 20 CET.

But we are talking about people that don't answer messages and just shows up before the game to say that they are missing some players. If it gonna be like that, then it would be better to have the games later...

everybody knows when is gamedays..if you dont get your 1. lineup then have to go 2.lineup.if team dont show up thats walkover.thats my 5 cents here

We have had couple of reports about cases like this but just couple.

    Lainaa

    9.2
Teams are allowed to postpone any of their games before 18:00 CE(S)T the day the game is supposed to take place according to the schedule. To meet this deadline, it is sufficient to submit a message to at least one of the opponent's captains via private messages on NHLGamer. When doing so, teams must adhere to the following procedure:

If a team asks to postpone a game, then they have the option of moving said game to any of the two directly subsequent default game days, including any non-default days in between (green area in the picture below). The team is obligated to propose the possible alternative days as soon as the team asks their opponent to move the games - "dragging it out" to bypass the second part of the procedure below is not allowed. If the opponent is able to play on one of the proposed days, the game takes place on this day. If the opponent is not able to play on the suggested alternative days and no viable solution is in sight, both parties need to involve League Administration immediately. League Administration will assist in finding a solution.

Life has so many variables and when talking about real life sports the teams usually have a lot bigger rosters than we have here. So one player doesn't effect it that much. Then when we go to higher tiers you don't miss games because of work since that is your work. Sometimes life just gets in the way and that's why the re-schedule is there.

I agree you should always have a backup player but sometimes it just doesn't work out:
8 player roster and 1 of your guys is away from home for couple of days, Your backup has a call during the day that he is needed at work even when he was supposed to have a day off and then your goalie hits their head when walking home since it's really cold and slippery outside and can't make it since he had to go to ER. You could play in couple days when your other goalie is back home and so could the other team with some effort but  they rather try to get walkover since you didn't contact them early enough even tho you really didn't have that many choices to avoid the situation.
I'd rather have these teams play the game another day rather than giving out a walkover but of course the teams previous actions are to be considered.
If the other team has a record of "cat in a tree, head injury, drove to his friends house instead of his own by mistake" type of reports we will take a look at the situation with that in mind.

If we don't get reports there's no way for us to know about these things. Even if you can settle things it's good to send a notice that
"Team X didn't send any notice and didn't show up but we still managed to settle things. just to let you know"

    Lainaa

If the opponent agrees, the game takes place at a later day which suits both teams (in compliance with the next scheduling rule below). If the opponent disagrees, League Administration needs to be involved. League Administration will always try to ensure all games are played, however if one or both teams were obviously at fault by disregarding rules or lacking spirit to play games, or if other teams are affected by a delay (e.g. if the next playoff round cannot start on time), walkover wins/losses can be used to resolve this situation.

    9.6
If a team is more than 15 minutes late to a game without prior notice, the opposing team has the right to request a walkover win. These requests will be looked at by the League Administration and depending on the reason, walkover wins/losses can be given out. To solve these requests we require proof from both teams.

There's a certain situations where walkovers will be given but walkovers are not given lightly since we are all here to play the game.
