Welcome to ECL 3

Woah, 54-58 games for regular season, that'll take easily over two months to reach playoffs. I like the idea of long regular season personally, but unfortunately our two players @ADETIKKI and @FlyerKungen must take part in Finnish army from January 2017 . Well, time to bring couple more players in I guess.

Think of the little bit weaker teams, newcomers etc. They propably lose interest at halfway if games go bad and lose alot😕. I think 4 groups and shorter regular season would've been better.                               + I think ~30 games / group is enough to tell who deserves to advance to playoffs

Yes, @vatalisti, it have happened before. But I have very strong feeling about the word "divisions", which will take this whole shit to the next level. This may be last time when every team out there can play in the "real ECL" if you know what I mean. If you want to play the ECL in the future, this might be your last chance to prove it. Teams who really want to play this game competitively, will play those 54-58 games.

Personally I dont even care if some teams participate ECL3 and then just quit when they see that they cant make the playoffs. I want to get rid of those kind of teams.

Let the games begin.

We will see alot (?) of teams quitting mid season because of this, that is not very good. I wrote this several months ago but its insane that this is a free service as well, if there was a fee of lets say 150€/team less teams would sign up and the teams that would sign up would be serious teams with the right and respectful attitude towards the other teams and the community in general. 

On top of that this is a kickass service and its a shame that the people running this are doing it for free, it kind of pisses me off to be honest.

Staff has their plans. No need to worry about it. Just need to get things working 110% before you can ask money from it.

I can understand the worries of a long season - as you say, it is possible that teams will quit midway. That is unfortunate. (Not being sarcastic)

We want to offer a more serious option for NHL gaming and the first step is qualifications for the division system. In the future we can offer multiple leagues - some for the less serious players and some for HC players. It is not possible to please everyone, but we will do our best to cater to all audiences we want to be a community that takes NHL gaming into a more serious (yet fun) direction for those who want to be a part of that.

That's our plan in a nutshell. If your team feels strongly against it, please feel free to comment here or send me a PM. We value the opinions within the community, and if you feel we're making a mistake, we'll take the feedback.

Murohoki would love to see shorter group stage (unless there would be more matches every week).

We'd prefer to see format that has 3 groups that has 20 teams each or 4 groups that has 15 teams each.

Reason: Murohoki can finish the long one aswell (2x30) but we think it might be too long group stage for some teams.

 

And just for thought, could there be an option for teams to choose between "the professional league" or "the amateur league"
