Unfortunately, we need to announce another ban for an NHLGamer member. The person is a repeat offender, @Alex28 (PSN ID AlexBVB28), who was officially banned from all leagues and tournaments on March 14th of this year.
About two months ago the admins of NHLGamer were contacted with a hint that Alex has played with a new account (Camora) during the Summer Cup and the GCL 2 Season. This led to a detailed research from our side during which we found enough proof to confront him with those details.
Two members of the NHLGamer staff confronted him with the accusations we had heard of and offered a reduced ban if he pleads guilty. Unfortunately, Alex denied having any second account named Camora and that this has nothing to do with him. At this point we showed him our technical findings.
Finally, he confirmed that he created the new account Camora about one week after being banned and used this account as a team captain for Summer Cup and for playing in GCL 2.
We also asked Alex to let us know if anyone was aware of his actions and he disclosed this information with us, with the condition that we agreed not to punish these users. We will honor our word and these gamers will not face any penalties. However, we do want to note that accepting this sort of behavior from your fellow community members is unacceptable and strongly punishable in the future.
No player may have more than one account on NHLGamer.com. This account can be used for playing on different consoles simultaneously as long as the player has their PSN ID / Gamertag set up on their NHLGamer profile.
Based on the above LA agreed on the following ruling:
- AlexBVB28 will be banned for all NHLGamer activities / leagues / tournaments which are played on NHL 19. With the launch of NHL 20 he will be eligible to play again.
- AlexBVB28 will be banned from any captaincy role on NHLGamer for the next 5 years (until December 31st 2023).
- Any further infractions against the rule of secondary accounts will result in a lifetime ban for AlexBVB28 from NHLGamer.
We will also add the following additions to the rules:
Teams who will pick up players that are currently banned from playing on NHLGamer will face serious penalties for doing so. The captains of the team will be banned for the duration of the season on NHLGamer and the team will be disqualified. For teams consisting of former teammates of the banned player, no proof is required in regards of whether or not they were aware. The assumption is that former teammates will be able to identify the banned player in voice chat parties or in WhatsApp groups.
- New members on the NHLGamer platform - who have not participated in at least one event - cannot have a captain position of a team during the Summer Cup or for ECL Pro and ECL Elite teams. In order to confirm the identity of a member, NHLGamer Staff can ask for proof of identity as a means to prevent fraudulent behavior.
