  1. Interested in improving your driving with telemetry? I've been a beta tester for hotlaps.io for a while now and the developer is looking for more testers. Naturally it's still a work in progress and a lot of features are still in development. In the future we will look for ways to integrate telemetry data analysis into our race broadcasts and reports. I encourage any and all participants of the league to sign up as a beta tester, but it is not compulsory. If you do apply, write in your application that I referred you to the site and you will be accepted.

Been driving the Codemasters F1 games since 2016, although with long breaks in-between. Rallying is another passion of mine. I drive with no assists and cockpit cam and like to do a rain dance before each race.
  3. In this topic you are free to discuss anything, whether it's about setups, gear, weather, coconuts or dislike of Hermann Tilke's tracks. The world is your oyster!
  4. This topic is for incident reports and the stewards' verdict of said incidents As stipulated in the league rules: 10. Incidents, Appeals & Penalties It may happen that rules get violated. In such cases it is up to the drivers to report the violation in the appropriate stewarding thread. The staff encourages the parties involved in the incident to discuss the incident before reporting to the stewards. The stewards will only investigate incidents that are reported by drivers within 48 hours of the start of the event. An incident report must always contain. The name of the reported driver (the violator) The race name/number and lap number of the incident A private YouTube video (or similar) is recommended showing the incident from various angles (Top view, chase view, cockpit view, other drivers view etc). (No music please). A short description of the incident, without rant. You must always send the report with your own forum account. You can only send a report if you were actually in the race. A report from an outsider will not be considered. You may ask another driver to send their footage of the incident as well to support your report The staff will then investigate the incident. Incomplete reports will not be considered.
  5. This thread is for signing up for the league. Please enter your PS4 tag and you best TT laptimes for Monza (dry), Hungaroring (dry) and Silverstone (wet). If you wish, you may also share some information about yourself, particularly your experience level in F1 league racing, or just racing in general, but this is not compulsory. If you improve your times, please edit your original post instead of composing a new one. We are looking to get two tiers running simultaneously, but if we do not get enough sign-ups, only a single league will be organized for now. Races will be held on Sundays at 19:00 CET for League 1 and at 17:30 CET for League 2. The sign-up period will be open until Sunday 1st of November 00:00 CET, but can be extended by a week if needed. According to the original plan, the league starts on Sunday 8th of November. There will be a Christmas break that starts after the race on 13th of December. The next race after that will be on 3rd of January 2021.
  6. The following rulebook is still a work in progress, although in its final form for the most part. All drivers are required to read and comprehend the rules before the season begins. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to write about them in this thread. 1. Forum The forum is the most important tool of communication between the staff and the drivers. Every driver therefore needs to have a forum account on NHLGamer to allow this communication. The drivers are expected to keep themselves updated on the contents of the forum of the specific league they wish to enter. That forum contains the important information about the league itself (such as the calendar, briefings and sign-up instructions). It is the driver's responsibility to maintain up to date with the forum based information. If a driver is going to be absent for an upcoming event, they should inform the organisers on the forum in the relevant race thread in a timely manner. 2. Conditions To ensure a smooth multiplayer experience, only drivers located in Europe will be allowed to participate. Each participant is required to make sure they are prepared for the races and are able to complete a series of laps without accidents or driving dangerously slow. Drivers are required to adopt a clean and respectful manner of racing. On-track battles are encouraged, but in overtaking and in defending the drivers are expected to leave fair racing room. Deliberate crashing, whether with other drivers or track barriers, is strictly forbidden. The Stewards of the league may issue anything from warnings to dismissal from the league depending on the severity of circumstance. All drivers should do their best to finish the race at all times. Sometimes it means driving at the back of the field for 20 laps - there are no exceptions aside from technical malfunctions. Any kind of retirement can bring out a safety car and have a major impact on the race. Deliberate retirements will cause the Stewards to deduct a point from the offending drivers. 3. Schedule & General Information Races will be held on Sundays at 19:00 CET for League 1 and at 17:30 CET for League 2. The season will be 12 races long. The race sessions start with a short qualifying. The league starts on Sunday 8th of November. There will be a Christmas break that starts after the race on 13th of December. The next race after that will be on 3rd of January 2021. Track calendar (in no order): Baku Great Britain Hungary Belgium Italy Singapore Japan Brazil The remaining 4 races will be decided by a vote once the registration is complete. 4. Lobby Settings Session Options AI Driver Level - 90 Category - F1 2020 Multiplayer Car Maximum Players - 22 Practice Length - None Qualifying - Short (18 min) Race Distance - 50% Quick Weather - Dynamic Sessions Start Time - Official (unless stated) Session Privacy - Invite Only Race Settings Parc Fermé Rules - On Collisions - On Vehicle Damage - Full Ghosting - On Car Setup - Full Safety Car - On Rules and Flags - On Corner Cutting Stringency - Strict Formation Lap - On Race Starts - Manual Tyre Temperature - Surface & Carcass Assist Restrictions Anti-Lock Brackes - Off Traction Control - Off Gearbox - Automatic Pit Assist - Off Pit Release Assist - Off Dynamic Racing Line - On ERS Assist - Off DRS Assist - Off Fuel Assist - Off 5. Qualifying for the Leagues In order to qualify for one of the Leagues, the applicants must set times on selected tracks or events. These times are added up and compared with other applicants to sort out drivers by their skills levels. In close situations the admins will give preference to drivers who have participated in NHLGamer leagues and are known to race clean and adhere to rules. Qualifying for the league requires the applicants to set a time in the following events: - Time Trial, Italy - Time Trial, Hungary - Time Trial, Great-Britain (wet) The applicants may try to set a time as many times as they like. The applicants are required to update their best results in the relevant thread on the Forums. This is done by editing your previous post instead of composing a new one. The times of each event are added together by the staff and full results published after the end of the registration period. 6. Cutting the Track Drivers must always, whilst being in control of the car, remain within the track edges and thus over the track surface with at least two wheels. When a driver takes a shorter, off-track, route through a corner, the move is considered as cutting. Cutting is forbidden at all times. When a driver is reported cutting he risks a penalty. When a driver takes a longer, off-track, route, around the corner, it is also considered cutting. We tolerate minor violations of the rules in the case of taking the longer route, however excessive violation will still be penalised. The adjudication of track limits is at the discretion of the league administrator as to whether there will be post-race checking for cuts, or to rely on reports from drivers. To be on the safe side, all drivers can approach track limits by weighing up the following scenarios: Remain within the track limits, and never worry about being penalised. Exceed track limits and then have to lift off, thus losing an appropriate amount of time. Lose control of the car and lose a lot of time. Don't lift off and risk receiving a penalty. The only reasons why in-game penalties might be removed post-race by the Stewards is if they were caused by a glitch, a crash or an attempt to avoid one. 7. Overtaking and Defending A) Overtaking means going past someone, not through them. Drivers are not allowed to push cars out of the way in order to overtake them. Though contact may not always be avoidable, it may not act as a means to make the pass. B) A driver can only attempt a pass when there is room for it and when the chance is reasonably high that it becomes successful without heavy contact. On road courses this means that the overtaking car must be able to get a significant overlap** with the defending car before they get to the point of turn-in for a corner. On ovals any bit of overlap is enough to claim space. C) The defending driver is allowed to defend his position by changing lines once per straight. As soon as the overtaking car has overlap on the straight the defending driver can only use the width of the track between the overtaking car on the one side and the track boundary on the other side to move in, without applying physical force to widen it. Retaking the racing line for a corner is not classed as making a defensive move, provided it is done safely and does not contravene other racing rules. **"Significant overlap" is defined as the attacking car having any portion of it's front wheels in-line with any portion of the defending car's rear wheels. Any less than this, and the defending car will not be obliged to leave room. 8. Chatting To drive a proper race a certain amount of concentration is required. To make sure this concentration is not broken it is forbidden to text chat during qualification and race sessions. Only the staff may use the text chat to communicate important information to the drivers. There are no exceptions to this rule. Offenders will be penalized. Verbal communication via console party chat is voluntary and accepted. Chat must not be made in-game. 9. Re-joining the track If you accidentally leave the track for whatever reason you must wait until there is a clear, safe gap before rejoining the track. Upon rejoining the track you must get up to speed as quickly as possible without blocking the racing line. 10. 11. Restarting the Session In the rare case that a race session needs to be restarted after qualifying, the weather will be customized to match the forecast during the qualifying session as accurately as the game allows. If the race is on dry tires, the drivers starting in the top 10 will have to start on the same compound of tires that they used in qualifying.
  7. That's something I'd like to know as well. Won't be buying either console for quite a while.
  8. Very unlucky with the lap 3 incident. Those hard tires looked dreadful.
  9. After a sleepy Baku and a USA no-show, Canada was at least eventful. Took pole with a bad lap and spent the start of the race trying to defend against a Torpedo. The race just went deeper into shit the longer it went on. Bad races make for good replays though. I put some good hours in it, only to have my electricity cut off for 10 seconds and lose it all. Much like the race really - finished with a sour taste. Enjoy!
  10. "EASHL practice mode You’ve been heard! NHL 21 brings back one of the most requested features for the competitive community. There are now a free skate and team practice mode in EASHL, where you can either test out your builds on an open sheet of ice or play together with you teammates against an AI opponent to sort out various strategies and set plays. In an open practice, teammates can shoot against either a CPU or human goalie." That's great. Now they can remove it for next year and bring it as a new feature ~6 years from now. GM Connected is never coming back. It doesn't have purchasable content and eats away the precious HUT cash generator. Just looking at those purchase options tells everything one needs to know about the franchise.
  11. And the DHL Fastest pitstop award goes to.. Renault! It looked like the pitcrew thought you had a 5 second penalty to serve before the pitstop, but I suppose there was no such penalty @Rimpe ?
  12. That was the biggest clusterfu*k of a race I've ever experienced. The worst part is it also ended the championship fight. From the start of quali to the first safety car period of the race my wheel wasn't working right. It was jerking left and right by itself between 4 to -4 degrees of steering input, and it happened while turning the car as well. Somehow I got one lap on the board and spent the rest of qualifying in garage trying to fix my wheel. Didn't manage to do that, so I started the race with the same problem. Spun off on the exit of T3 on lap 1, the car was very hard to drive. I was sideways on the track in a tricky spot waiting for the pack to go by when Ekenjr's crashed to my side. The safety car came in and I let the AI drive for a while, trying to fix the problem. I couldn't sort it out so I thought I was only a hazard on the track, so I decided to quit. I plugged off my headphones from my DS4 and suddenly my wheel was working again! The problem was I had no sound on my screen and was therefore driving mute.. and it would have dire consequences. Anyways, at this point of the race all of a sudden I realize that having just pitted behind the Safety Car, I was actually in a strong position to win the race, even though my standing for the moment was a long way out of that goal. Well, it didn't go quite as planned. I'll leave the details to my highlights clip, which if anything should at least be entertaining.
  13. I'm sure there will be a race where finishing is enough to get points. Baku is coming soon..
  14. Back at it for Round 3 in Melbourne, Australia. @altsu1's weather forecast from a few days ago was spot on: dry in quali and a race on full wets. The Time Trial times before the race had been very close and competitive, with a lot of drivers with a chance for a pole. Me and many others opted for a full wet race setup, while some prioritized quali more and some missed the forecast entirely. I had to do two consecutive hotlaps at the end of qualifying but I can be very satisfied with the result. The race was slightly less chaotic than I expected. Two safety cars meant I had my work cut out for me with @Erholtzi up my rear diffuser for most of the race. The nature of the track combined with the weather it was always going to be extremely hard to make a pass without a driver making a mistake. I tried to pull a gap after the first SC, but the second one ruined any attempts. Therefore I just tried to bring it home safely & without penalties, and I'm very happy with my first win of the season. There was a moment of "grosjeaness" for me though.. Congrats to @Selezny for the first podium of the season. Very good drive in treacherous conditions. Thanks everyone and see you next week at Sochi! Pole lap + race highlights from my POV:
  15. Thanks @Erholtzi for the update. I'll be doing a run-down of various statistics at the half way point and at the end of the season. My race was rather eventful. I put it into the wall at the exit of Beckets on my second quali run. First lap of the race was great and I gained several positions. Bottled it with the virtual safety car and was rewarded with a drive-through penalty. That put me back into the middle of the action and I ended up having a great time. I also fought with @kriketski17 for several laps, and he seemed to have good pace. Turned out the propel heads at Renault had started cutting costs on fuel - of which his car ran out.. As usual, it's the working man who gets the boot. Here's my race highlights: Excited for another race tomorrow!
  16. The livery design for ZigZag Racing has been completed. Here's a look at my car for the NHLGamer F1 2020 season: Helmet design to be revealed once pre-season testing starts..
  17. Awesome, I'm in! Just need a car with a decent cockpit view.
  18. An experienced player looking for a team. I prefer a forward position, doesn't really matter which one. I'm open for teams from any division. Looking for a group who play with a positive attitude. Last ECL was the first time I didn't participate in the history of the tournament. Just recently purchased the game, so it will take a bit of time to get up to speed. I always play with a team-first mentality, I like to move the puck around and really enjoy the defensive side of the game, including PK. I speak fluent Finnish and English but don't mind listening to other languages either. I'm available basically any time and day, just not on an instant notice, i.e. some scheduling would be nice. I don't use smartphones, whatsapp etc., so if that's a problem I'm not your guy. You can contact me here or on PSN, but here you will be likely to get a quicker reply.
  19. Great re-cap and a good read, thanks! Didn't follow the tournament, nor much else for the matter, so it was a very nice way of catching up. Kind of missed the rosters of the teams, seems like every team has changed its name during the past half a year.. I'm sure I can find them from somewhere though. Looks like it was a good time for everyone, lots of happy faces in those photos. In the end, that's what counts. Feels like half my posts these days involve congratulating Eki on winning one thing or another, but here goes again: Congrats Linkoping HC! 🥳
  20. A week has gone by so it's time for another wet hotlap. This time it was Hungaroring (replacing Bahrain) in a Red Bull.
  21. I thought Checkmate got promoted, no?
  22. That was one sweaty desert drive! Congratulations to Juunas for the win. The qualifying had the top 6 within a tenth or so if I remember correctly and it set up a great race from the get-go. I managed to keep the lead at the start and was feeling good with the first 9 lap stint on the softs. Bad news was the miscommunication between me and Jeff on the Alpha pit wall. He wanted me to go with two stops and I wanted one, so in a Ferrari-esque move I ended up having the mediums instead of hards for the 2nd stint. Until the last four laps or so I managed to keep up the gap but then the tires just melted under me and had little hope of defending the lead as I struggled to keep the car on track, so my hopes rested on the possible penalties for the guys charging from behind. Finished the race with tire wear at 90% and under 3s off the lead, but unfortunately for me they'd had a clean race. Really enjoyed that one and looking forward to Canada =]
  23. Played a couple of games as a D-man in 6s. Hitting felt borderline useless - it was hard to hit with the heat-seeking hitting mechanic and when one landed, nothing seemed to happen. Had to take a lot of speed and hit straight on to strip the puck. Saucer passes were very hard to intercept. I have a feeling saucers will pretty much replace regular passes as there didn't seem to be much downside to them - referring mostly to picking up the pass. Not saying it's a bad thing, just an observation. Goalies seemed to be in a lot of trouble, especially when there was a scrum in front of the net and the puck was loose somewhere under or near the goalie. Spending so much time on watching compulsory replays wasn't fun. Especially as we were getting thrashed.
  24. The big question for me is why. Why did they prefer to release a version that is 8 weeks old? "- Fixed cases where players would unintentionally stick lift because the action would carry over if they were to lose the puck. when trying to protect the puck using the same button." Sounds great but I still don't understand why they have to be in the same button when there are two buttons entirely unused in EASHL/CHEL. " - Fixed cases where AFK logic could potentially kick users for bad teamplay in Ones." Unfix and add to 6s too please
