  1. I had "only" one evening of experience so far which where around 6-7 games. Most of them came to 6vs6 play and two 3vs3 games. - Goalies seem to be pretty hot trash. While AI goalies can only save cross creases and high percentage shots, you can score on pretty much other shot. Human goalies also struggle to save some "easy" shots and received a lot of goals during scrambles or better to say when they can't make the initial stop. - hitting/bumping is completely unnecessary or useless. I know that those endless bumps favoured the defense but in the test it felt for me that you can't even bump anymore, it didn't trigger any animation in most of the cases and when it occasionally happened it didn't had any effect. Furthermore you either were able to hit the opponent right in the face or not even at all. If you weren't spot on on the hit, like completely centred, I flew right by the opponent without any impact. Felt also the way that I basically was animated around the opponent. This was for PMD and with a "heavier" TWD. Heard that from someone with a 95kg DD as well. - skating as an offensive player is fun and I like that if you have a decent speed advantage with the puck you can keep it and don't get penalised just for skating straight forward with the puck. So you keep your advantage, that makes sense to me. Skating as a defender especially in backchecking situations is extremely awful. F.e. the basic situation where you cover the middle of the ice and the forward wants to skate near the boards to get the entry over the side, you can't defend that beside camping basically already near your own zone or hustling straight backwards towards the net and hope for the best. Normally you skate a little bit across to the boards but you loose so much speed while doing it. This needs to be fixed, otherwise RIP defenders - stick lifting feels ok/good, quite the same to NHL 22, idk if they changed anything there but IMO there is no immediate need. - still unsure how to judge the poke checking. I like that that you can't spam it anymore, which was just brutal. Personally I had the feeling that it was up and down all evening, like sometimes it was pretty accurate with the timing and the effect it caused, and sometimes I poked three times perfectly but it didn't had any effect on the opponent. He still kept the puck (unstoppable force on gold). That non effect occured with other builds on the opponent side as well though. - still unsure how to judge the speed penalty for holding the defensive skill stick. I get why they changed it and it was abused a lot of times, f.e. blocking, but yesterday it felt like you can't use it at all. You basically stop while doing it. So it's effectively you can poke one time or never. My guess is they can't prevent the blocks so they made the penalty for using the defensive skill that high, which should make it pretty much non existent. If you have to penalise that, then probably not that much IMO. - occasionally a flickering effect occurring on the center ice line. - no server selection --> big L - we didn't play a private game, but I guess it is highly unlikely that you can connect the SG stats to the ingame stats for the team leaderboards which pops up after goals. While this is cool for normal EASHL games, I guess it could be annoying for private games as they don't count towards the statistic so it will probably pop up multiple times with the same stats in private games which is useless. Like the goal celebrations for a certain amount in the last game. - are those new OT celebration cinematics randomized, I thought MAYBE you can set them also up in the club settings which was obviously not the case. Never played an OT game though so far. - passing felt quite smooth so far. I like that you had better aim and strength to some "drop" passes.
  2. Deadly Phantoms are looking for a forward for the upcoming GCL. Most likely Centers are preffered but wingers are also welcome Minimum top Lite Division players or higher. DM if you are interested!
  3. Top 3 point scorers in Week 1 Forwards: 1. @pikkuroger 64,6 points 2. @Eki(ENCEKI) 61,9 points 3. @kriketski17 40,5 points Defenders: 1. @loimmu 46,8 points 2. @xDoumi 40,4 points 3. @Teemuyy 39,2 points Goalies: 1. @Faze91- 53,5 points 2. @Thunborg5 53,0 points 3. @eliekamel87 50,0 points
  4. We got the first league signed up and they shall be provided with their respective links soon. We will try to prepare a draft document soon as well. If you want your league to be featured in the test as well, please get us the details of your league ASAP.
  5. Technically more then 6 people should be possible and if you want to run a league with more users, that should be possible. I can edit the original post. The number of 6 was more of a suggestion. I agree with your point, if you play with f.e. 4 users, most likely the players from the top teams get used. If you run a league with 6 users, you have to pick 60 players, the top 4 teams include 24 of them, so also "middle-bottom" teams will get featured. You can also individualise your own league, so that you have to take 6 forwards, or only 4 forwards and 4 defenders. You could also do the setting that GWGs get you f.e. 15 points so the "go-to-guys" from the middle-bottom teams have more value. I would say that up to 9 users would make the most sense with the 5-3-2 default setting as most likely all of the Elite teams will run their starting 6 which leads to 96 active players. Thank you for the feedback
  6. NHLGamers, We would like to test out a new experimental "feature" that can hopefully be improved on in the future. For now this covers only ECL Elite, but if there is interest towards this, we hope to cover more and more divisions. We believe some of you already know the principle of a fantasy manager, whether it be for the NHL, the NFL or for another league and sport. We want to run a test with a pretty basic system and want to know all of your feedback and if there is interest in something like that in general. We offer you two different types of Fantasy League: 1. Running a fantasy league You can run a fantasy league with up to a total of 9 people. Every person has to choose five forwards, three defenders and two goalies. You are allowed to pick only two players from one team (e.g. you can pick Pleemaker and ENCEKI, but then you cannot pick Cappe as well). You run your draft (we suggest doing a snake draft) by yourselves and send us all of the necessary data (1. league name, 2. selected rosters and 3. the people playing) and we will take care of the rest. We will provide a default scoring system, but it is possible to make your individual adjustments as well. Afterwards you will get provided with a link to your own league and the stat sheet for every Elite division team that allows you to see how "your" players are performing. 2. The best starting 6 of NHLGamer You name us your starting 6; three forwards, two defensemen and one goalie. Here we will also apply the limitation that you can take "only" two players from one team. We will create a report where you can see who - out of all participants - picked the best starting six fantasy team. For the scoring system we will use the "default" settings. If you are interested in creating a league, please post your league details as a comment in this thread. If you want to take part for "the best starting 6 of NHLGamer", post your team here in the comments as well. Let us hear your feedback!
  7. The NHL 22 closed technical test is over and unfortunately I have to confirm that the matchmaking problem is still there as we expected. For reference: my team played the technical test from Monday to Thursday every single evening, but e.g. on Tuesday we only got to play ONE game during 90 minutes. To be fair, we started playing late, around 22:30 CEST, but as we already acknowledged on Monday, the matchmaking problem is still a thing. We played the same team 3 out of 4 times. Doing my own research, I found out that out of the total of 14 German speaking teams, 9 of them were playing the PS5 version while 5 of them were playing the PS4 version. Seeing (on Discord) all of those other teams (mostly Finnish and Swedish) playing as well, it was the final confirmation that the matchmaking is still broken. Searching games on "relaxed" also didn't help at all as we got matched against North American team, which most likely searched on that setting as well. So we see this as proof that even though the matchmaking problem itself is crucial, the players/teams being split between consoles is just brutal, even moreso if the info is accurate that it's "only" because of some cosmetic things, f.e. the moving eyeballs of players, like....really? One more time again I want to kindly ask the EA NHL team to look at that problem and give us the option to search on the server we want to play our public games as well. I mean, it shouldn't be a big thing, because remember, in your "most competitive game mode" where you organize the GWC tournament, you have the possibility to adjust your settings to search for an opponent with up to a certain amount of a maximum ping. So you have the solution, you just don't want to add it to EASHL as well. You even have a tool to track quitting players and ban them for a certain amount of time, you just don't want to add it to EASHL as well. It's just so devastating, frustrating and most of all sad. Please fix it. Further thoughts on the closed technical test, based on the few games we got to play: + Passing: you finally have some realistic passing in the game. If you throw a cannon ball, the recipient has to have the hands of Patrick Kane and Connor McDavid to be able to pick it up and therefore he most likely won't. Bravo! Behind the back passes are slower which they should be, you can't force that much passes through sticks and bodies. Don't listen to the guys saying that this is trash because they now have to think about what they are doing. + Deflections: I saw some really nice animations and it seems like they are more likely to happen without being the go to move. Players still jump randomly instead of getting their stick into the shooting lane, which sometimes just sucks and is pretty much unrealistic, but I believe making EVERY tip possible would also be OP. + Build system: for me personally I do like the mix between full customizations and pre builds, it's up for debate if the small customizations really will make a difference, but I do like the fact that only certain builds can have certain zone abilities. - please consider adding versus again in the upcoming technical tests that we can also see how the AI is doing. I don't really have negative points to tell about the technical test, for sure some animations felt weird or the multiple chops got on my nerves after a goal, but for a beta it's normal to have some glitches and let's be real, sport simulations will always have some glitches and weird bugs.
  8. NHLGamers, we are back with another article in our "Player Spotlight" series. There are many talented and highly skilled players in the German community that are worthy to take closer look at. In our second article we are proud to present you Kevin @Keuschemisch Berg, assistant captain of noRex Gaming and member of the NHLGamer writing staff. 1. When and why did you start playing EASHL in NHL? I started playing EASHL in NHL09 with friends from school. In the beginning we used to play with 3 or 4 players and the remaining positions were filled by bots. At some point in time Patrick @RPH_31 Braun messaged me if I was interested in joining his club. And so I joined my first 6v6 club, the so called "German Bulls" where Stefan @Toews19 Schoierer (BarriosLucas18) and Mario @Laurentius Schneeweis (Larphox) played, too. Since then BarriosLucas18 and Larphox were part of every team I played in. 2. What are your highlights in your EASHL career so far? One of my first highlights was making the playoffs with the "Eisbaeren Regensburg" in GCL 4. Especially since the team was fighting in the relegation zone of the league before it was a great accomplishment to make the playoffs and participate in the quarterfinals after winning our series in the pre-playoffs. On the international virtual ice it is the promotion to ECL Pro twice. After losing the quarterfinal series in ECL 10 Lite against HUIPPUPASSI (now Goons; 3:4) it eventually was enough to secure a spot in ECL 11 Pro. And obviously our silver medal in ECL 12 Lite and gaining promotion straight back into the second highest league on European level. Individually one of my strongest seasons was ECL 10 Lite where I was able to secure a place among the leagues top 10 scorers in the regular season (30GP: 33G + 53A = 86P) and playoffs (16GP: 22G + 23A = 45P). On top of that I was able to secure the top scoring title in RCL 8 Pro for EHC Traktor Chelyabinsk (22GP: 36G + 35A = 71P). In 1v1 I secured the 2nd place in the eDEL (official German Championship of the German Hockey League DEL) where I felt short to @Timasy in the finals. In the Gaming World Championship 2021 I managed to get into the Top 64 on PS4 in Europe. 3. What are your personal goals and long term objectives in 6v6? Personally I want to develop my playing style in 1v1 and be more consistent. In the next eDEL and GWC I would like to confirm this years performances and get into the finals respectively Top 64. My main focus is on 6s with noRex Gaming. After our promotion back to ECL Pro we want to establish ourselves in the league and prove ourselves that we belong to Europes Top 48. We have a young, talented and highly motivated roster that is always keen on learning and developing which is one of our biggest strengths. Staying in the league and denying the qualifier tournament will be our main goal in ECL 13. 4. What is your favourite dish? Himmel un Äd (translated: heaven and earth; typical dish from Cologne: mashed potatoes, apple sauce and black pudding). 5. If you could create two teams, one for the ECL (only non German players) and one for the GCL, what starting six would you put together? You can only choose one player from your own team. ECL Team: LW @FlyerKungen - C @Beniittto - RW @Eki LD @Lehmannens - RD @loimmu G @ICappeI In the offense we have three of the most dangerous and individually skilled attackers in ECL Elite. @FlyerKungen normally plays on the right wing but considering his skill and experience I can imagine him performing on the same level on the left wing. You do not need any explanation why I put @Beniittto and @Eki in my offensive lineup after the last seasons. @Lehmannens is extremely fun to watch and his scoring touch would improve any team in the scene. Especially his 1v1 abilities are one of the reasons why I like his style of play. With @loimmu we probably find the best RD of ECL Elite in my team. As well as the best netminder of the world: @ICappeI. GCL Team: LW @IDangledYouOut - C @PlaymakerSJ - RW @Timasy LD @Franky__2768 - RD @Toneee9 G @Fightlocke3 In the offense we find the three most skilled players in the community. @Toneee9 is naturally a LD but I would really like to see the combination of him and @Franky__2768 - especially offensively. @Fightlocke3 took a great development in the last two seasons. It is worth to mention that he started playing NHL in the summer of 2020 and already is on a very good level. Surely one of the rising goalie stars in the German 6s scene. 6. Have you ever played hockey in real life? I never played icehockey but I always played street- and rollerhockey with friends. In contrast to virtual hockey you won't find me on the right wing but between the pipes. 7. Would you rather be an average hockeyplayer or the best EA Sports NHL player? I'd rather be the best player in EA Sports NHL. 8. What is your favourite memory in real hockey? I have two moments stuck in my mind: My favourite team in real life are the Kölner Haie (Cologne Sharks). My first game in the Kölnarena was a 7:1 victory over the Hamburg Freezers in 2004. As well as the overtime win in the playoffs 2008 against the Adler Mannheim. Philip Gogulla scored the OT GWG after 168 minutes. The longest game in the German league to date. 9. What are your hobbies and what are you doing in your free time? If there was not a global pandemic right now I like to follow the matches of my favorite football team FC Cologne. On top of that I connect two passions: football and travelling, the so called "Groundhopping". I try to visit as many stadiums of different clubs in as many different countries as possible (I watched over 650 games in almost 300 stadiums in 24 countries). 10. Pizza with or without pineapple? Obviously without. 11. If you could listen to only one song for a whole day while playing NHL, which song would it be? Wasted Penguinz - Wide Awake (special shoutout to @esdor) 12. What's the story behind your PSN ID? It is the village where I grew up in local dialect. 13. Who is the best ECL (non German) and GCL player? ECL: Erik @Eki Tammenpää GCL: Tim @Timasy Hess 14. How do you spend your vacation? As mentioned in the answer to question 9: travelling to different countries and visiting different cities and stadiums. 15. High-scoring game or OT drama? Definitely OT drama (with the better end for my team). 16. Do you have any rituals before league games? Our goalie Christian @Fightlocke3 Schubert, LD Christian @GERxVillain Ungeheuer and me always hit the practice rink and take some shots, breakaways and simple passes to warmup and prepare for the matchup. 17. What's your conclusion about ECL 12 and how do you compensate the departure of IDangledYouOut? I am extremely proud of what we accomplished in ECL 12 Lite. We failed in the Pro qualifier just by a small margin so we were very determined to earn instant promotion back to ECL Pro. The way how we managed to win our group and dominated in our playoff run until the finals is really something we can be proud of. This season helped our young team a lot and we can take a good development from that and mature as a whole team. IDangledYouOuts experience and individual class helped us massively in reaching our goals. But I am very confident that we find an adequate player who will fit perfectly into our team. I think that nearly any player in the world can be replaced by good chemistry within a team. 18. What are your goals for ECL 13 and GCL 8? As mentioned earlier before we want to maintain our spot in ECL Pro and prove that we belong to the Top 48 in Europe. It will be our second season on Pro level and everyone of us matured a lot. On top of that every player improved individually which makes us a way better team compared to ECL 11 Pro when we had to pay tuition in many situations. For GCL 8 we want to confirm our semifinal appearances from the last seasons. Maybe we will be able to take the next step and get into the finals for the first time.
2. Was sind Deine bisherigen Highlights in Deiner EASHL-Karriere? 4. Was ist Dein Lieblingsessen? Wasted Penguinz - Wide Awake (Special Shoutout an @esdor) 12. 18.
  11. Team LEISURE (Pro division) is looking for an experienced defenseman, preferable LD. Currently you will be serving as a backup for ECL, but might get some playing time if doing good in normal EASHL games. PM if interested.
