  1. NHLGamers, After long season and some incredibly tight turns, we're proud to be crowning Oton Letkutemppu your ECL 8 Lite champion! It was certainly no easy feat, but Oton really found their stride in the playoffs. The absolute clinic put on in the finals goes to show that we are talking about a Pro ready team and we'll be waiting eagerly for what next season entails for these guys. NHLGamer would also like to congratulate Vesa Pompa HC, We Kings and Cheers Hockey for outstanding performances and promotions to ECL 9 Pro. The game by game results for the finals are as follows: Game 1: Oton Letkutemppu - Vesa Pompa HC 5:0 Game 2: Vesa Pompa HC - Oton Letkutemppu 0:1 Game 3: Oton Letkutemppu - Vesa Pompa HC 3:0 Game 4: Vesa Pompa HC - Oton Letkutemppu 1:2 Oton Letkutemppus championship roster: GOALTENDERS #4 K.Makise @Huuru #62 S.Rakastaja @Theoikeakarim DEFENSEMEN #16 J.Pappas @JokkePappa #44 O.Keskitalo @Duran93 FORWARDS #9 T.Lehclair @Thounimeister #9 O.Kuhta @Matson94 #15 T.Rautavaara @builtforspeedos #59 V.Svitov @RappioTaide #87 S.Crosby @Lehikoinen_ #88 P.Kaukalo @Juha88 Oton Letkutemppus road to the trophy: Regular season: 17-6-1 (14th) Round 1: BYE Round 2: 4:1 vs. Finnish Hockey Legends Round 3: 4:0 vs. Me Carvoset Quarterfinals: 4:2 vs. Blackdawgs Semifinals: 4:1 vs. Cheers Hockey Finals: 4:1 vs. Vesa Pompa HC Once again on behalf of all of us, congratulations! 3. NHLGamers, ECL 8 was certainly surprise season in our Lite division! Even more so than usually this time around. It's only fitting to have the 14th seed team Oton Letkutemppu take the trophy in a final series agains the 20th seed Vesa Pompa HC - congrats to both these teams on outstanding seasons. This season the playoff format involved some bye rounds and these certainly didn't favour the higher seeded teams that got a week of rest while the lower seeded teams fought it out in order to make it through and keep their dream alive. It's been yet another long but joyful road which we're very happy to have shared with all of you guys participating. NHLGamer extends a humble thank you to all of the players(you!), who are making this experience possible. Without further ado, let's move on to a review of this season: Group 1: Perttilan Kommandot The winners of a tight Group 1 were disappointed in the second round of the playoffs where LammasLauma swept the series in four games. This is the second season in a row where they have experienced a fast exit, when in ECL 7 they lost in the second round to Dubnation Gaming. Elamam Kiekko The consistently competitive EMK took the second place from their tight Group 1 but had struggles to find the right fit to their left wing as in total five players tried to play there. In the second round of the playoffs they lost in six games to FarmiNaattori who finished third in Group 1 and whom Elamam Kiekko had beaten twice in the regular season. Group 2: Old Farts The Oldies were the second strongest team in the regular season but they surprisingly lost to Poston Fruits in six games in the second round of the playoffs and only scored three goals in these games. @Valmuri played center in the first three losses against Poston Fruits, but after that @Ankkalasvegas joined the action and Old Farts were able to win two games before losing the game six where from Fruits advanced to the third round. Last Period Last Period was only the sixth team in scoring in their group. Outstanding defensive efforts and great goaltending from @buzee_ won them the second place on their group. In the playoffs they lost in the second round to Western Express in five games and scored only seven goals in those games. Group 3: Blackdawgs Group 3 featured seven out of ten top scorers in regular season from four different teams. One of them is fifth highest scorer and Blackdawgs captain @Mistertyppo95. Blackdawgs were the only team that won Dynamic who dominated almost every game they played and that secured their spot as winners of their group. Blackdawgs lost in the fourth round to the eventual ECL 8 Lite winners Oton Letkutemppu and they were the only team that won Letkutemppu two times in the playoffs. After four games, the series was tied 2-2 but Letkutemppu won both the fifth and sixth game in the overtime. If the puck had bounced differently - Blackdawgs could have won the title. Dynamic Most dominant regular season team as three of their forwards had more than 100 points when fourth place player @Stefan_397 from EV Fuessen eSports had 88 points. Something happened in the locker room and Dynamic gave walkovers from two of their last regular season games to Saucer Hockey and they didn’t play at all in the playoffs. Had they put their differences aside - could they have won the title? Group 4: Dystopia The team finished the regular season 21-2-1 and with @Jerax13 carrying the team on his shoulders they were on top of the table. Dystopia managed to reach round 4 of the ECL 8 Lite playoffs where they got beaten by group 4’s second placing team Cheers Hockey. Cheers Hockey 15-5-4 was enough to reach second place in group 4 and with some good chemistry in the team with @Borjendahlen leading the team in points, they were one of four teams that got the right to play in the Pro division next ECL season. Group 5: Prowlers The team finished the regular season losing only two games. @Toobbiiee(Vesterberg89) and @RullAthor1991 combined with solid goaltending from @David McSavid(Rundqviist) gave these guys a good chance for a Pro push but they found themselves beaten 4-0 in round 4 by Vesa Pompa. Puck Panthers @Giinis lead the team in scoring with 29 goals and 23 assists. The team didn't make it through round 2 of the ECL lite playoffs though as Me Carvoset were a bit too much of a challenge the Panthers. Group 6: We Kings We kings is one of four teams that made it to the semi finals where they lost 4-1. The regular season was very good especially for @Hbnzo who lead the team in points and @Maggre in the crease had a solid record of 13-4-1. We are very curious about what will happen next season for these guys. Oton Letkutemppu The ECL 8 Lite champions finished the regular season 17-6-1 in a group that looked very though. @Thounimeister scored more points in the playoffs than he did in the regular season and their goalkeepers were extraordinary, especially @Theoikeakarim who finished the playoffs with a save percentage of 95%(!) after playing defense for most of the season. Under the radar: Vesa Pompa HC Vesa Pompa HC had an ok regular season where they finished with 16-6-4 record. At the playoffs this heavily offensive team only lost one game before the finals where they were swept in four games by Oton Letkutemppu. eken45jr (60 points) and affelj96 (57 points) were the two top scorers in the playoffs. What this means is a selection of six players in a starting lineup, that have showed exceptional skill and played a good season. Please note that all selections are subjective and they are made by community members who have been keeping an eye on ECL 8 Lite. Without further ado, here's the top 6 of our Lite division in ECL 8: @Mistertyppo95 (Blackdawgs) - @Basstian23 (Dynamic) - @Eken45jr (Vesa Pompa HC) @Halinalle69 (NOCANDO) - @Theoikeakarim (Oton Letkutemppu) @timpelo303 (Dystopia) On top of an outstanding season in general, we also saw some ECL Lite records being broken! The following records have been set this season: Most assists in one season(Lite): @Basstian23 (79 assists) Most penalty minutes in one season(Lite): @Bull_Bensson (62 minutes) Most powerplay goals in one season(Lite): @Lakevalley (12 goals) We're happy to conclude the season with this review. Once again, thank you all for your participation and congrats to the promoted teams. See you next season! ECL Writing Team, @Tonimo92 & @Willander97
  4. NHLGamers, It's been a wild ECL 8 in 'The Jungle' formally known as ECL Lite. For this season, the playoff format was changed up a bit due to a large amount of teams signing up and due to a community outcry for more regular season games. In past seasons, the Lite regular season has probably not bees as tightly contested as in our other divisions simply due to the fact that a vast majority of teams have made the playoffs - this season, a large amount of teams made the playoffs, but we found a way to bring more meaning to the regular season by creating larger groups. Now teams had to fight for their post-season a bit more! The Lite playoffs, however, are notorious for being an absolute free-for-all. With 48 teams making the playoffs, we've now weeded through five rounds in order to make it to the finals, that's a lot of games right there. Number 14 seed Oton Letkutemppu has played a total of 20 playoff games so far and the opposing number 20 seed Vesa Pompa HC have fought through a total of 24 playoff battles. (14) Oton Letkutemppu vs. Vesa Pompa HC (20) The season finale is just around the corner and it is going to be a big one. Both teams have had a strong playoff push against good teams and they will wrap up the season in this best of 7 series. Who will lead their team to victory? Will it be @Lehikoinen_ who has recorded 44 points through 20 games for Letkutemppu or will it be the notorious L2-spam legend @Eken45jr who has 59 points in the same amount of games for Vesa Pompa. If you want to be ECL 8 Lite champion you have to put the puck into the back of the opponents net. In order to do that you have to beat two very solid goaltenders in this series. Will @peppeztvshow be the big difference maker in the series with an outstanding goalie performance with a record of 12-1 or will @Huuru (10-3) be more successful at keeping the puck out of his 4 by 6 net? All of these above questions will be answered starting tonight, as the ECL 8 Lite Finals kick off with a bang. We're going to see a tightly contested battle between two mildly surprising finalist teams, so make sure to stay tuned for a schedule announcement and tune in to the stream tonight! I hope you guys are as excited as we are to get this thing started. Other than that, let the series begin. ECL Lite Writer, @Willander97
  5. And so there were four. The ECL 8 Lite season has progressed al the way to the Semifinals in which we're seeing two very even matchups. We've certainly been treated to some surprises this season, as a majority of the teams that were higher ranked in their respective matchups so far have been eliminated. We're left with four very capable teams that all are deserving of promotions to ECL Pro for next season. Now it remains to determine the final marching order and crowning a champion. Without further ado, let's get into the details of our semi's: The ECL 8 Lite Semifinals are to be played between Thursday, 7th of March and Wednesday, 13th of March. (11.) We Kings vs. Vesa Pompa HC (20.) We Kings were disappointed when they lost in the second round to K A R H U T in ECL 7 Lite but now they have fought their way to the semifinals. Surprisingly, We Kings had a bit of a struggle against EV Fuessen eSports, Beast Hockey and Saucer Hockey even though they were one of the more impressive teams in the regular season. Vesa Pompa HC has stormed through the playoffs by only losing two games. They have the most firepower in their offense where one of the top versus players right now @Eken45jr plays right wing. Vesa Pompa HC is a team that relies to their offense to score a ton of goals and this is going to be a series where we are going to see a lot of those. Goaltending might be the difference maker. The team that has the better goalie is going to win the series. (14.) Oton Letkutemppu vs. Cheers Hockey (16.) There are two big similarities that can be found from these teams. Both are playing their first ECL season and both have defenders that like to hit a lot @Theoikeakarim for Letkutemppu and @Margoes - Maqruusi for Cheers). Oton Letkutemppu has lost only three games in the playoffs and they seem to be on a roll. On the other hand Cheers Hockey that consists of many former Squad Vilttiketju players let in only five goals in six games against the third best regular season team Dystopia. This serie is going to be a close one and we predict that the games will be defensive battles where either one can win in seven games. Who are you rooting for to win it all? Leave a comment down below! ECL Lite Writer, @Tonimo92
  6. Hello NHLGamers, We are a few weeks in to the ECL 8 Lite Playoffs and have now reached round 3. We've had the opportunity to watch a bunch of exciting games in the first two rounds and a some of the matchups have taken surprising turns! Round 3 of the ECL 8 Lite playoffs is to be played between Thursday, 21st of February and Wednesday, 27th of February. From now on we'll be polling Lite captains for the outcome of upcoming playoff series. We did just that for the 3rd round and below the matchups you can see our calculated result presented. Here are the matchups for round 3 of the ECL 8 Lite playoffs: (1.) Prowlers vs. Poston Fruits (36.) Prowlers 55% (3.) Dystopia vs. Western Express (31.) Dystopia 91% (5.) Blackdawgs vs. LammasLauma (28.) Blackdawgs 64% (11.) We Kings vs. Beast Hockey (27.) We Kings 73% (12.) Saucer Hockey vs. FarmiNaattori (26.) FarmiNaattori 91% (14.) Oton Letkutemppu vs. Me Carvoset (25.) Me Carvoset 55% (16.) Cheers Hockey vs. Reaperr (22.) Reaperr 55% (18.) Chatbox vs. Vesa Pompa HC (20.) Vesa Pompa HC 70% There you have it, guys! We're excited for the upcoming round and expect to see some tight games. Who do you think will advance? As always, play hard and fair out there, see you on the ice! ECL Lite Writing Team, @Willander97 & @Tonimo92
  7. NHLGamers, The final week of the regular season is here and a lot of important games have been played in the hunt for a playoff spot. The ECL Lite Writing Team sat down and discussed the weight of the players who took their team on their shoulders and helped them reach a top 8 spot. This week we have chosen a player that did just that. @Lidaas79 showed the way when Nordic Nosebleed secured their playoff spot scoring 5 goals and setting up 8 more against second placed Cheers Hockey and HC Finlandia who finished ninth, a mere point shy of the playoffs. PSN-ID: Lidaas_79 Team: Nordic Nosebleed Position: Right Winger Games played this week: 4 (HC Finlandia, Cheers Hockey) Goals: 5 Assists: 8 Points: 13 +/-: 5 Congratulations on being named the Player of the week! How are you feeling about that? - Wow it came as a surprise, fun to get the award. Your team was relegated to Lite last season. What have you changed this season? - It was a tough season last ECL but now it feels like we have found the right way. We are underdogs in the playoffs so we'll see how far it carries us. What is behind your and your teams great form against tough opponents in the last week of the regular season? - We started to get the team together and work well for each other, the defensive game works very well right now. If you have to pick a player from the Lite division and add him or her to you roster, who would it be and why? - I have all the players I need in my team right now. 😃 Last question. How far will you guys make it in the playoffs? - We aim high and hope to reach a semifinal. Thanks for your time Lidaas_79 and good luck for your team in the playoffs! ECL Lite Writing Team @Tonimo92 & @Willander97
  8. NHLGamers! The ECL 8 Lite Playoffs are finally here and we have got some very strong teams that will battle each other for a Pro spot. From each group the teams that finished top 8 will make the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs will start today on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 and end on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019. According to section 5.6.1 of the ECL 8 Rulebook, the first round of the ECL 8 Lite Playoffs will be played as follows: In ECL Lite, the top 8 teams from each of the 6 groups will make the playoffs. For each group the top 2 teams will have a bye round and advance directly to round 2. All remaining teams will be seeded according to the tiebreakers mentioned in 11.3. The top 4 teams of these seeded ones will also advance directly round 2. This leaves 32 teams playing in round 1, where the top seed plays the 32nd seed, 2nd seed will play 31st etc. The winning teams will be merged with the bye teams and play the 2nd round, making a total of 32 teams competing in round 2. Tiebreakers (ECL 8 Rulebook 11.3): Wins (including OT-wins) Head-to-head record (points in mutual games) Goal difference (across all games played) Scored goals (across all games played) After the first round, all remaining teams are again re-seeded. Every series are played in best of seven games and the highest seeded team will play the first game at home. (10.7.2 ECL Rules). Here are the matchups for round 1 of the ECL 8 Lite Playoffs: (17.) Mighty French Roosters vs. Atomic Hamsters HC (48.) (18.) Chatbox vs. Uncle Dens (47.) (19.) Suomen Sonnit vs. Stayhard Stallions (46.) (20.) Vesa Pompa HC vs. Niederrhein Canucks (45.) (21.) Finnish Hockey Legends vs. Pink Panthers HC (44.) (22.) Reaperr vs. K A R H U T (43.) (23.) Kaukosen Luistin vs. Korpens Finest (42.) (24.) EV Fuessen eSports vs. Campo De Juego (41.) (25.) North Pole Huskies vs. Poston Fruits (36.) (30.) SKA vs. SKA Hokurit (35.) (31.) Western Express vs. Rusty Bulls (34.) (32.) Nordic Nosebleed vs. Club Savage (33.) Play hard and fair out there, see you on the ice! ECL Lite Writing Team, @Tonimo92 & @Willander97
  9. Many games have been played this past week. Passes have been made and goals have been scored and it is time for us to reveal our POTW. This week we have chosen @Klassikko_ of Perttilan Kommandot. The finnish defensman had 3 goals combined with 10 assist in 6 games and a spectacular +/- of +25! PSN-ID: Klassikko_ Team: Perttilan Kommandot Position: Right Defenseman Games played this week: 6 (North Pole Huskies, Scrubs of Sweden, FarmiNaattori) Goals: 3 Assists: 10 Points: 13 +/-: 25 @Willander97 had a chance to catch up with the man in such great form lately. Congratulations on being named the Player of the week! How are you feeling about that? - Thank you. I have to say that I wasn't expecting it so I feel very surprised. In the past you have been playing as a forward, what made you start playing as a defender? - We have many players who played last season in Perttilan Kommandot also. One defender wanted to try to play forward this season and I was interested in playing defense. Perttilan Kommandot is currently leading leading their group in Lite with a record of 20-3-1. What makes your team so good? - Like many other teams we also try to play as a team as good as we can. Every guy participates in defense as well as in offense. We also have a team captain (Jarmonen) who knows how to boost up the team before the games. He also possesses great tactical vision which helps us to win tight games. If you have to pick a player from the Lite division and add him or her to you roster, who would it be and why? - There are many good players in lite but I have to say @ahonaattori from The Dudes. This guy makes everything for his team so he would be a good addition for Kommandot also. Last question. How far will you guys make it in the playoffs? - We will go as far as we deserve. Hopefully we can use the marketplace which our captain has already booked to celebrate our rise to ECL Pro. Thanks for your time Klassikko_ and we wish all the best for PeKo and yourself in the postseason! ECL Lite Writing Team @Willander97 & @Tonimo92
  10. Gamers! Another week has come to an end and it is time that we reveal the third ECL 8 Lite Player Of The Week. This past week has been great for many players but we have decided that @Jassoonsunlasso has earned the award. PSN-ID: Jassoonsunlasso Team: Me Carvoset Position: Center Games played this week: 6 (SKA from Neva, Campo De Juego, Western Express) Goals: 17 Assists: 16 Points: 40 +/-: 25 We gave the main man a call and asked him a few questions. Congratulations on being named POTW this week! What are your feelings about that? - Surprised and happy because we have secured a playoff spot! You have played 6 games this Week and scored 33 points (17+16). What is the key for you to score goals consistently? - About the goals.. i don't know? Every pass is a missed goal opportunity? Being in the right spot at the right time? Good passes from forwards and defensemen make it happen. You guys have been playing good so far this season. Why? - We've been having fun in chat during games, that's why I guess! Cap @Juanzaar switched me from RD to C in the middle of the season and after that I think our teamplay has gone to another level! Last but not least our Angry goalie Tepazor who has been sick for the last 3 weeks (IRL sick lol) is the right man between the posts! If you have to name one player in Lite that you would want to have in your team, who would it be and why? - This question is hard! Maybe @Pagemz because his shooting is 7.5% as F! We could help him to get it up! But i have to choose @Bantubox from Saucer Hockey. He's almost as good of a trash talker as me! We have so much fun when we are in the same party! All day every day! Once again we would like to congratulate Jassoonsunlasso on this award and we wish him good luck in the future. Until next time! @Willander97
  11. Welcome to the second edition of the ECL 8 Lite: Player Of The Week! We've had another week go by and JaromirSniper68 has continued to put up the same kind of numbers (40 points) as in the first week, but he wasn’t the player we chose this time. Our player of the week doesn’t score points but instead slows down the opposing teams point production by keeping his own net clear of pucks. The goalie we are talking about is @buzee_ from Last Period. PSN-ID: buzee_ Team: Last Period Position: Goalie Games played this week: 8 (vs Old Farts, Russian Lightning, Devils in Disguise and Night hunters) Record: 7-0-1 Saves: 71 Goals against: 7 SV%: 91,0 Shutouts: 4 I was itching to get a hold of the outstanding goaltender for a few questions. Turns out buzee_ had taken a well deserved trip to warm Dubai, but still took the time to give us a few takes. You have been awarded this weeks Player of the week award. How do you feel about that? - It feels great, didn’t expect that at all. We had good games with the team and they deserve the recognition as much as I do. Describe yourself as a goalie. - Me as a goalie, that’s a tough one.. I guess I just try to play as simple as I can and the positioning is very important. Best games are those where opposition doesn’t have many chances because we defend the right areas. I'd say a lot of communication is the key. What kind of shots are the hardest to stop? - Couldn't really tell you that, but let’s say breakaways. Is there a shooter that is particularly hard to face? - We’ve had some good players in our group but can’t really recall any names. Thank you to buzee_ for answering these questions. Let's hope he can keep up this good form and help his team steal some important points for a successful run in ECL 8 Lite. Until next time! On behalf of the ECL Lite Writing Team, @Tonimo92
  12. NHLGamers, A week has been played in the ECL Lite division and we in the ECL Lite Writing Team have decided to choose a player of the week, making it a weekly thing. This weeks player has shown a lot of individual skill and managed to rack up a total of 40 points in just 6 games during the first week of competition in ECL 8 Lite. The guy we’re talking about is @Basstian23 (JaromirSniper68) and down below you can see his stats this past week. PSN-ID: JaromirSniper68 Team: Dynamic Position: Center Games played this week: 6 (vs HC Slapshot, Slapshot Club Germany and Niederrhein Canucks) Goals: 15 Assists: 25 Points: 40 +/-: 19 I sat down with JaromirSniper68 and asked him a few questions: You have been awarded this weeks Player of the week award. How do you feel about that? - I’m very happy. I would like to thank my teammates. Without them, this wouldn't have happened. Describe yourself as a player. - I would say that I’m a skilled two way player who sees the ice very well. I consider myself more of a passer. I'd rather pass for an open net for my teammate than take the shot. Why does it work out so well for you? - It’s about my teammates. They’re making it easy for me to score and to get assists. To be honest though, the opponents so far haven’t been the best and I have so much more to show. A BIG thank you to JaromirSniper68 who took the time and answered our questions. As the season moves on and the opponents get tougher, it'll be exciting to follow the progress of JaromirSniper68. It'll remain to be seen if Dynamic can stay in form and the man himself can keep scoring. Until next time! On behalf of the ECL Lite Writing Team, @Willander97
  13. Hello NHLGamers! Welcome to our season preview for the ECL 8 Lite Division! We are back with short notice but that didn't seem to slow anyone down as we are very happy to announce that we have 81 (!) teams that will battle for the ultimate goal of Lite championship this season! For ECL 8, we are also happy to announce our new ECL Lite Writing team consisting of @Tonimo92, @Willander97 and @CzE Toni! As you guys surely are aware of the Lite division is a bit tricky to anticipate when new teams that we don't know much about enter the ECL stage. However, we in the ECL Lite Writing Team are very excited to give you guys our opinions and expectations about the teams going into ECL 8 Lite. Without further ado, let us present to you our ECL 8 Lite Season Preview: We have evaluated the expected top 2 teams of each group, additionally we highlight players to watch from each group with the following forma: 2 forwards, 1 defenseman, 1 goaltender. Enjoy! Group 1: Players to watch: FORWARDS Klassikko_, Perttilan Kommandot, ECL 7 Lite stats: 26+22=48 Markogirl87, Elämäm Kiekko, ECL 7 Lite stats: 23+25=48 DEFENSEMAN MrNipsuli-, FarmiNaattori, ECL 7 Elite stats: 2+11=13 GOALTENDER lordjami, FarmiNaattori, ECL 7 Lite SV%: 86.95 Club Savage Club Savage is a team full of ECL veterans lead by @Slash Lander (Teemu_Underdawg). Many of their players possess pro level experience, but most of them seem to have been on a downward trend lately. Forward @Jusa had 29 points last season in Pro division and is expected to be a dominant force in Lite. Ig Club Savage can get back to their old form, they will surely strive in Lite. Elämäm Kiekko Elämäm Kiekko lost some major core players such as @Ankkalasvegas, @Valmuri, @Samzoni and @Tonezki-_-89, who all moved over to a club that makes it's comeback - Old Farts. Despite all that, Elämäm Kiekko is a good virtual hockey team since they have acquired players that will help them - one of them being @AzByCxx who scored 38 points in ECL 6 pro for OG Royals, so there is some evident skill in his game. If championships were won by the team that has the best social media , Elämäm Kiekko would dominate the field. Group 2: Players to watch: FORWARDS Ankkalasvegas, Old Farts, ECL 7 Lite stats: 22+29=51 apetttaja, Old Farts, ECL 7 Lite stats: 23+25=48 DEFENSEMAN Nonnipojke, Suomen Sonnit, ECL 7 Lite stats: 2+18=20 GOALTENDER kuglach, Atomic Hamsters HC, ECL 7 Lite SV%: 80,00 Old Farts Old Farts is making a comeback. @Ankkalasvegas is leading the team to fight for a spot in the Pro division, where they played in ECL 6. The duo of captain Ankka and winger @apettaja is expected to be one of the highest scoring pars in Lite this season. Several Old Farts players represented Elämäm Kiekko last season, and it is interesting to see what happens if they face each other in the playoffs. Suomen Sonnit Suomen Sonnit won their group in ECL 6 and finished third in their group in ECL 7, it should be almost a certainty that they will be at the top of their group again. Two times in a row the team that beat them in the playoffs has advanced to pro. Suomen Sonnit has a core that has played together a for a long time. Group 3: Players to watch: FORWARDS JaromirSniper68, Dynamic, ECL 6 Elite stats: 11+15=26 (Played only two games in ECL 7) rrr41rrr, Blackdawgs, ECL 7 Lite stats: 24+20=44 DEFENSEMAN Tonimo92, Kaukosen Luistin, ECL 7 Lite stats: 2+14=16 GOALTENDER Randomjanne, Dynamic, ECL 7 Lite SV%: 80,95 Dynamic A team with this many individual skilled players will go far in Lite. Take @Basstian23(JaromirSniper68) for example. A player of his caliber should nothing less than dominate this league in points and Dynamic should be at the top of the table by the end of the season. Vesa Pompa HC Vesa Pompa HC should be considered Lehmannen Badboyz 2.0. The roster is the very same as for ECL 7 for the most part. Last season they lost to the eventual champions The Black Jacks in the second round but it was in overtime of game seven. The team had a decent regular season but if they can play at the same level in the next playoffs, they will surprise many. The biggest question mark is their new untested goaltender @peppeztvshow. Group 4: Players to watch: FORWARDS Jerax13, Dystopia, ECL 7 Lite stats: 27+30=57 Willander97, Western Express, ECL 7 Pro stats: 15+25=40 DEFENSEMAN BasiBurminen, Cheers Hockey, ECL 7 Pro stats: 2+9=11 GOALTENDER timpelo303, Dystopia, ECL 7 Lite SV%: 85,33 Finnish Hockey Legends FHL ended the ECL 7 season with a top 4 spot in group 6. With almost the same roster as last season, these guys will keep their chemistry going into this season too. The only change is @suomenstamkos moving away from the goaltender spot. If new goalies @suitsukemestari and @vvesa93 can do their job they are a team to look out for. Me Carvoset A team that has some serious potential to play in the PRO division come ECL 9. @Juanzaar who is the team captain recently left the Xbox family to join our PS Community and he and his linemates have the chemistry to knock big teams out. With solid goaltending from @Roman (McCormick_Kenny) they will be hard to beat. Group 5: Players to watch: FORWARDS Terrorsenkoi91i, N0 Name, ECL 7 Pro stats: 2+5=7 Rullathor1991, Prowlers, ECL 7 Lite stats: 18+42=60 DEFENSEMAN jiipee_40, Poston Fruits, ECL 7 Lite stats: 10+23=33 GOALTENDER Trollstivegen, Mighty French Roosters, ECL 7 Lite SV%: 86,80 N0 Name This recently founded team has a lot of Pro level experience and if they find the chemistry, they could be a cup contender for Lite. Team captain @Isidor1891 (TerrorsenkoI91I) has been a scoring force in the past, but can he find the same touch after not so good last season in Le Coq Sportif? Prowlers Prowlers showed that they are a good team last season when they finished first in group 4 but they didn’t quite have what it takes in the Playoffs losing 4-0 to Infinity in the second round. Now when they have added offensive fire power in @Toobbiiee (Vesterberg89) who scored 10+20 in 15 games for Stayhard Stallions last season I think that they have a good chance in the Playoffs. Group 6: Players to watch: FORWARDS Johtava, The Everblades, ECL 7 Pro stats: 19+12=31 Hbnzo, We Kings, ECL 7 Lite stats: 25+34=59 DEFENSEMAN pelimies80, We Kings, ECL 7 Lite stats: 5+19=24 GOALTENDER D3NK4N95, Korpens Finest, ECL 6 Lite SV%: 89,74 EV Füssen eSports Former Inter Iceland has experienced some major departures since last season most notable being former captain @Gregson91. However they have replaced most departures with other pro level players alike @Daniel huggler (lx_RKO_xl), the winger from Silver Sword Griffins. EV Füssen eSports should be one of the strongest Lite teams in ECL 8. The Everblades The majority of The Everblades players spent last season in Pohjoista Voimaa at the pro level. POH nearly made the playoffs in Pro but now their core players have formed a new team and are going for a fresh start in Lite. Their defensive style is tough for every team but their offensive production is not guaranteed. If @Johtava can keep the scoring touch he had last season in Pro, they can be a cup contender. It'll certainly be yet another exciting season with more participants than ever! We answered your call of getting more games to ECL Lite and hopefully this time around we're bringing you the best season yet. As we now also have a designated ECL Lite Writing Team, you will receive better Lite articles and more content regarding the division in general. See you on the ice! ECL Lite Writing Team, @Tonimo92, @Willander97 and @CzE Toni
  14. Hey NHLGamers, ECL 7 was the biggest season for our community yet! That's both in terms of registered teams, players and the newly introduced price pool. Once again, we were treated to some incredibly exciting action as skillful teams and players went head-to-head in all three divisions. We'll be kicking off our look in the rearview mirror with this season review of ECL 7 Lite, which included a total of 73 teams divided into eight groups. Group 1: The Black Jacks The eventual champions surely had a season to remember! This Swiss-based team went into their second ECL season with one goal in mind only: promotion. Their offensive trio of @[email protected]@Freeman7187 was unstoppable and proved incredible dominance all season long as the fast-paced passing ice hockey seems to have been absolute poison to the opposing teams. With their promotion it'll be interesting to see if they'll be sticking together to continue on the same note in the Pro division. Arguably, their breakout game and defense will need to step up in order to compete on the next level. The Black Jacks managed to string together a row of excellent performances all season long, seeding 3rd into the playoffs and being in the driver seat through most of their playoff matchups too. Their second round opponent Lehmannen Badboyz proved to be a difficult obstacle to overcome though, as the series went into game 7 and nail-biting overtime before captain @Original-SnuS sent the Badboyz packing. All in all, the performance put up by TBJ this season was nothing short of perfection, as they absolutely crushed the whole division and put forth a very convincing run to the championship. Mentula SKA Mentula SKA was a team that a bit surprisingly battled their way to a promotion spot. They're in their third season of ECL competition already without any mentionable prior success. However, this season was one to take note of. The team has managed to stick together for a few seasons and seemed to find some consistency this year. Also the acquisition of their top scorer and rookie @Meiccimoi seemed to have been a key factor in their success. Group 2: The Next Gen Newly established TnG was an interesting team all season due to their roster including lots and lots of 1vs1 talent and some young, potential players. Their talent seems to have translated well into 6vs6 play as the team managed to pave their way through to the finals, where they suffered a tough 4-2 series loss at the hands of The Black Jacks. Rajatorpan Mafia Rajatorpan Mafia put up a respectable fight this season, finishing 2nd in their group and going on until round 3 in the playoffs before being eliminated by Dubnation Gaming. The team has an extremely strong defensive game, showcased by their 0,94 GA/GP in the groupstage. Lack of firepower ended up being their demise in the playoffs. Group 3: We Kings We Kings consist of some veteran players who are making a very welcome comeback into the scene and being rather successful in doing so. The team went undefeated for a large part of the group stage, falling just short of a perfect run in the closing rounds. Captain @Hbnzo and everyone's favourite tactician @pelimies80 were the most important building blocks in the success of the team this season. SPARTANS Newly formed SPARTANS had a strong showing in ECL 7, managing to pave their way into the quarter finals where they fell one win short against Supernatural. When watching this team, don't miss LD @Drunkendefender, who accounted for 1/4 of the teams total goals in the regular season and led his team in scoring in the playoffs. Talk about an offensive defenseman! Group 4: Prowlers Swedish team Prowlers did good in the groupstage, but ended up falling short in a disappointing round 3 exit against the lower seeded Infinity. In fact, Prowlers were on fire offensively and managed to seed 6th into the playoffs while scoring a total of 71 goals. Their top scorer of the regular season was @RullAthor1991, who amassed 60 points in 18 games. Farminaattori Farminaattori is a new acquaintance for me, personally. The team is rumoured to play a fast paced hockey, the kind some might call straight up wild. Their game seemed to work out fine in the group stage, pushing them into the playoffs at 7th seed, a push which ended rather quick in the second round at the hands of community sweethearts Elämäm Kiekko. Group 5: Dubnation Gaming Dubnation is a team full of young potential players. They don't play a flashy game, but it is effective in securing points. You could say they have a more mature playstyle than you'd expect from a new Lite team. Despite not scoring a tremendous amount of goals, the team managed to do very well throughout the season, which didn't end until the quarter finals when they came up against the eventual champions The Black Jacks. K A R H U T The roster of K A R H U T include some veteran names such as @Ubula (RuttuBerse), the team was placed in an arguably easy group 5, which they handled very well, ultimately seeding into the playoffs at 23rd. Winger @Jii1984 led the team from the front all the way into the 3rd playoff round, where they were knocked out by Supernatural. Group 6: Clowns On Ice I think we can call Clowns On Ice a veteran team by now. They're a common sight on the ice and have managed to string together a few good seasons recently, making the playoffs of ECL Pro last season. However, the team lost captain @Tim_FlyersFan in the offseason and decided to step back a bit. They must feel rather dissappointed about the outcome though, as a convincing groupstage wasn't enough, they fell short in the playoffs against Supremacy in the 3rd round. Poston Fruits Led by veteran Lite player @Jobeyz, Poston Fruits were making their inaugural appearance in the ECL and did so on a successful note. Although being eliminated in the second round by SPARTANS must sting, we'll be hoping for a comeback in ECL 8. Group 7: Supernatural Supernatural is a team consisting of several experienced players who haven't really managed to find a home for themselves in an established team. We were surely aware that this was a skilled group of guys, but I must say they put up a far better performance than I expected. The team seeded 8th into the playoffs and kept their level of play high in the playoffs, eventually faltering in the semifinals against The Next Gen. Supremacy Former Soldiers of Odens consists of some very skilled and potential players who seem to be playing the game rather casually. I know the skill level and potential is there to see some success in ECL games too and they started showing signs of that in ECL 7. Supremacy finished 3rd in their group, seeding 24th into the playoffs, but took their minor underdog status and ran with it all the way to the quarter-finals, where they didn't manage to surprise The Next Gen. Group 8: Rukoilevat Hinkkaajat Hinkkaajat has been grinding it out in Lite for some seasons already, often having a decent group stage campaign but quickly running into trouble in the playoffs. This season showed some promise as they were able to win their first two playoff matchups, but ended up falling short against The Next Gen in round 3. Finnish Snipers Finnish Snipers looked great in the groupstage and through the first round of the playoffs, as they dominated group 8 and seeded 2nd into the playoffs. Hockey Hooligans was no match in the first round but groupstage opponent Rukoilevat Hinkkaajat sent them home in round 2. Under the radar: Freddie Mercury Institute FMI is a tough team to play due to their tight defensive trap, but they've had trouble converting in the offensive zone. This season they ended up in a quite tough group together with the likes of We Kings and SPARTANS, eventually finishing 3rd in the group and seeding into the playoffs at 13th. The team managed to make their way into the quarter finals, where they suffered a devastating loss against Mentula SKA. Please note that all selections are subjective and they are made by community members who have been keeping an eye on ECL 7 Lite. Without further ado, here's the top 6 of our Lite division in ECL 7: @Krinke (The Black Jacks) - @Original-SnuS (The Black Jacks) - @Freeman7187 (The Black Jacks) @Drunkendefender (SPARTANS) - @Koppipelaaja (The Next Gen) @ramseyy2 (The Next Gen) The NHLGamer staff congratulates The Black Jacks for winning the Lite division and furthermore The Next Gen, Mentula SKA and Supernatural for their promotions to the Pro division. We want to thank all participating teams for their efforts and hope you all enjoyed the season! If you have any suggestions on how we could improve our website, please let us know by contacting any staff member. The recaps of our other divisions will be published soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
  15. I want to know what people think about who are the best of the best in the business right now. It's 2018, ECL6 is closer to it's end than beginning. I thought we should separate this topic from original "best players in ECL scene" thread as we are talking about only ECL6 this time. So instead of listing "dream line-up", try to list players that are actually the most important players for their teams. Players that really are the most feared ones in their teams. Players that are irreplaceable compared to other guys in their team. Players that your eyes pick first when you find an opponent in EASHL search. Players that are the backbone of their teams. It can be anything you rank high when you think about the best of us. You dont have to pick 16 MVP's from Elite for example if you're not sure about some teams. List teams and players that you are 100% sure about - this way it's easier to keep up with votes as there are only those names that we think are the best. For an example, I didn't pick any player that I'm not sure about being their team's MVP so that's the reason for not having every possible team on my list. So to keep this voting more clear, lets have one rule for the listing: you can list only one player per team. --- Here's my list. Elite: (random order, 11 players from 16 teams) Dominointi, SJK eSports Penatski, Carlsberg HC Puantso, Dynasty Totalii, Written in the Stars Foppatofflan, Northern Ascendancy Hullued, Sjukstugan tbnantti, Northern Stars topikeranen, Evolution Slaivone, Kattiautomaatti Supreex, Rusty Blades The_Alpha_Furyan, Falun Coal Miners Pro: (random order, 11 players from 32 teams) Ollizhki, Shameful Knights I_Eki_I , FILADELPHIA Vaporik, Almost Famous ZipPlayer, White Trash Jaikenk, Alliance HT Lagezickarno, Monte Carlo RutonMosse, Red Machine DUNZA, Synergy Hockey itspardytime, TIKI TALK Darkki87, EN HUND gzell60, Deadly Phantoms wild card: MCH_98, SIKA Did'nt list any teams/players that I'm not sure about, mostly because of that I haven't faced some teams that much or then it was too hard to pick one player above the rest. For an example, there are some teams in Pro that I have never actually even played against or if I have, I just don't remember anyone special from couple games so I could list them here with other, more valid names. What I'm glad about is that I have not just forwards on my list but Dmen and goalies as well. And yes, it took a while to create the list but I think it would be fun to see how the community sees the whole MVP case. EDIT: I will try to write something about my picks later this week - like why I did choose this guy from this team even though there's more scoring players in his team than my pick is.
  16. Hey NHLGamers, The ECL 7 Lite Final has now been played and we have a winner! In their second ECL season, The Black Jacks set an objective that was very clear - promotion. Very well, they certainly had a season to remember and succeeded in accomplishing their goals set. Their offense dominated the Lite division all season long, finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the top scorers department by amassing 246 points between their three top forwards @julmi21 (Original-SnuS), @Freeman7187 and @Krinke. The trio continued their scoring in the playoffs, being one of the decisive factors for the success of TBJ this season. They marched on convincingly through almost every playoff matchup, the only team to really surprise them was Lehmannen Badboyz, who took their round 2 series into game 7 overtime. Captain Original-SnuS bailed TBJ out with arguably the most important goal of the season to push them forward, ultimately all the way. If you missed any of the action, you can check the games out on Twitch. These are the results of the final series: Game 1: The Next Gen vs The Black Jacks 6-7 Game 2: The Black Jacks vs The Next Gen 2-1 Game 3: The Next Gen vs The Black Jacks 3-2 Game 4: The Black Jacks vs The Next Gen 2-3 Game 5: The Next Gen vs The Black Jacks 1-2 Game 6: The Black Jacks vs The Next Gen 2-1 The Black Jacks - Championship roster: GOALTENDERS #22 @afc_Tschitsch #30 @NHLDennis86 DEFENSEMEN #7 @Cami_7 #66 @Bille1990 #77 @Tornado.hr #88 @burban26 FORWARDS #6 @Krinke #13 @Freeman7187 #15 @Tron1x90 #16 @RudY51 #21 @julmi21 (Original-SnuS) TBJ's road to the cup: 16-2-0 during the regular season, seeding 3rd into the playoffs. 24-5-3 in the playoffs. Round 1: 4-0 VS HC Keskikalja Round 2: 4-3 VS Lehmannen Badboyz Round 3: 4-0 VS Infinity Quarterfinals: 4-2 VS Dubnation Gaming Semifinals: 4-1 VS Mentula SKA Finals: 4-2 VS The Next Gen Congratulations to TBJ on behalf of the whole NHLGamer staff! 17. 73 teams down, two remain standing. It's been a wild ECL 7 in 'The Jungle' formally known as ECL Lite. As we know, the Lite regular season is probably not as tightly contested as in our other divisions simply due to the fact that a vast majority of teams will make the playoffs. The playoffs, however, are an absolute free-for-all. With 64 teams making the playoffs, we've now weeded through five rounds in order to make it to the finals, that's a lot of games right there. Number one seed The Next Gen has played a total of 25 playoff games so far and the opposing number 3 seed The Black Jacks have fought through a total of 26 playoff battles. Here's what our ECL 7 Lite Final matchup looks like: (1) The Next Gen vs The Black Jacks (3) As previously stated, both teams have fought a long way to make it to the final. There's still a lot of hockey left to play, so let's hope their tanks don't run empty and there is some hunger left to claim the very top spot of ECL 7 Lite. Seeding first into the playoffs, we have the favourite from Finland, The Next Gen. The offensively strong team started off with a 'bang', sweeping Bombers Hockey in the first round. After this, they've ran through their opponents at a rather steady pace (Pink Panthers HC 4-2, Rukoilevat Hinkkaajat 4-0, Supremacy 4-2 and Supernatural 4-2). You could see that the opponents were getting tougher as the games went on, but the playoff favourites still managed to engine their way on. By advancing to the semifinals The Next Gen gets to enjoy a promotion to ECL Pro for season 8. On the opposing side is a team from small Switzerland, The Black Jacks. TBJ has had a similar playoff run as their final opponents, but they ended up with a close scare in round 2 against Lehmannen Badboyz. Their round 2 went into overtime of game seven until captain and center @julmi21 (Original-SnuS) scored the decisive goal. This is the complete run of TBJ: HC Keskikalja 4-0, Lehmannen Badboyz 4-3, Infinity 4-0, Dubnation Gaming, 4-2, Mentula SKA 4-1. Alike their final opponents, TBJ has secured promotion to ECL Pro for season 8 by advancing to the semifinals. It'll be interesting to see these teams go at it, as we without a doubt have two highly skilled opponents going head-to-head. The Next Gen packs a massive amount of individual skill and holds several young and potential players, whereas The Black Jacks are probably more reliant on their routine and some set plays in their game. Both teams like to use their center as a target player to set up their game, so it'll be a battle of who can execute said strategy better. My personal opinion is that TnG has a slight advantage in skill level but TBJ is a more coherent unit. Margins are small and I expect a tightly contested series. My prediction is TnG in 7. Good luck in the finals for both teams! Thank you to @julmi21 for reaching out and assisting with this article. All opinions are my own. Your NHLGamer Editor
  18. Hello NHLGamers An exciting week with Lite round 2 is over and it's time for round 3 of the ECL 7 Lite playoffs! There are 16 teams left and only 6 of them were seeded top 10 into the playoffs, so we've seen some big upsets in round 2. In round 1 we saw only 2 out of 32 underdogs that went on to round 2. With some tight matchups in the second round, six teams with a lower seed ended up as winners. Five out of sixteen matchups went to game 7 and we should expect another exciting round and maybe even tighter series overall from now on. The games will be played in a best-of-7 manner, meaning it takes four wins to advance onto the next round. Round 3 has to be finished by Monday the 26th of November 23:59 CET. Matchups for round 3: (1) The Next Gen vs. Rukoilevat Hinkkaajat (35) (3) The Black Jacks vs. Infinity (28) (4) Mentula SKA vs. Elämäm Kiekko (27) (5) Clowns On Ice vs. Supremacy (24) (8) Supernatural vs. K A R H U T (23) (9) Rajatorpan Mafia vs. Dubnation Gaming (18) (12) SPARTANS vs. Kalamasu HT (16) (13) Freddie Mercury Institute vs. Inter Iceland (14) Broadcast We covered some good matchups in the second round on our Twitch channel. Should you want your games to be covered in our live broadcasts, please inform @Kenu about it as early as possible before the games. Necessary broadcast information includes: Date Time Line-ups for both teams (including correct spelling of PSN ID’s and player numbers) Captain/player interviews are a plus! We wish all the teams the best of luck - have fun out there!
  19. Hi NHLGamers, We are ready for round 2 of the ECL 7 Lite playoffs! After a very quiet first round with nearly no upsets, as 30 out of 32 ended with the higher seed winning. The stage is set for another exciting week of playoff hockey and we are now into familiar territory with the best 32 teams of the Lite division that will have to do or die. We expect some upsets in this round, based on previous seasons, as some favourites will struggle and some underdogs will rise. The games will be played best-of-7, meaning it takes four wins to make it into the next round. Due to the EA server downtime pushing the regular season end and eventually causing the Playoff pairs in round 1 to be published quite late, we ended up allowing one extra day for the first round of the playoffs, thus pushing the rest of the rounds forward, meaning round 2 has to be finished by end of Monday the 19th of November. Below are the pairs for round 2: 1. The Next Gen vs 43. Pink Panthers HC 2. Finnish Snipers vs 35. Rukoilevat Hinkkaajat 3. The Black Jacks vs 32. Lehmannen Badboyz 4. Mentula SKA vs 31. 24. A new team will join ECL 7 those next weeks. A team based on french guys from France and Switzerland, it’s name : Team France. The roster will mix some players from former Lite finalist, Hawks HC, from Cancun Pirates and free agents. « Our country is not the most dynamic on this soft, nevertheless we can now create a team with some good and very good players from our country, or our language for the swiss guys. We're gonna work hard as soon as the soft will be released to be set for october. About the team name, just a team from France, we don’t pretend to be in any case an official Team France, but we find that quite funny. », explained Gomez_M5, manager of Team France. This is the optionnal roster from now G : Trollstivegen (from Raging Monkeys, former Hawks HC) G : Lefebvre83 (from Cancun Pirates) D : Method4 (Free agent, former Hawks HC) D : Chomkos (from Cancun Pirates) D : Iceman130993 (from Cancun Pirates) D : Virtual_Saku (from Cancun Pirates) F : Izzo1706 (from Banterfield Batallion, former Hawks HC) – Team Captain F : Gomez_M5 (from Cancun Pirates, former Hawks HC) – General Manager F : Takeo_28 (free agent) F : Givystar (from Freddie Mercury Institute) F : xXcoco-Rhe76Xx (free agent)
  25. Hey NHLGamers, Yet another ECL season is in the books and we got to enjoy some outstanding games, teams and players. We would like to launch our season recap series by taking a look in the rear-view mirror at what happened in our Lite division. This season we broke the benchmark of 100 participating teams, which resulted in a 60-team Lite division with six 10-team groups. In this Lite division recap, we’ll be reviewing the performance of those teams highlighted in our predictions article. Group 1: Ghetto Firebirds - The Firebirds proved that they belong in the mix of teams that can compete for the chance for the promotion to the Pro division. They had a nice bounce back after being relegated from Pro at the end of ECL 5. Captain @Aantri led his team to a convincing 1st place finish in their group with a record of 14-3-1, the captain amassing a decent 53 points along the way. The team started the playoffs quite well with a 4:1 series win in the first round, following a 6 game series in the second round. They fell just short of a promotion by losing their quarterfinal against Sektion K with a series score of 1:4. Sektion K - Sektion K finished only 3rd in their group, but former Lavetten player @Edhoolm97 in the center position together with goaltender @Tauri led their team all the way into the semi-finals where they lost in a game 7 thriller to one of the preview favourites, Cowabunga Hockey. They gained their promotion by knocking out the top 3 seed SGWEER United. Group 2: Freddie Mercury Institute - Freddie Mercury Institute had to deal with quite a tough group and finished only 4th in the regular season. They were still ranked as the 12th seed in the playoffs and punched their ticket for a chance of a promotion by qualifying into the round of the last 8. However, this story didn’t have a happy ending as Style crushed their dreams by winning the series 4:1. SGWEER United - This German-Swedish connection came back strong after a painful 1st round exit in ECL 5. They topped their group again and managed to advance to the second round in the playoffs. In the second round SGWEER faced eventual semi-finalists Sektion K, whose impressive defensive efforts were poisonous for SGWEER’s very strong offense built around top-scorer @Gregson91. Group 3: Style - The double OEHL champion established a strong presence in the ECL scene by finishing 2nd in their group. Left wing @Panarinz put in a huge effort in their long playoff run, which ended in a 4:2 semi-final loss against the champions to be EV Duisburg. On their playoff run, Style managed sweep another favourite Suomen Sonnit in their second round matchup, which is certainly an impressive show of strength from the Swedes. Korpens Finest - Listed as the team to watch in group 3, Korpens Finest proved their given status by finishing on top of their group with a regular season record of 13-3-2. Heading into the Playoffs as only the 10th seed, they eliminated The Black Jacks - also from group 3 in the first round. However, their second round matchup against GHETTO FIREBIRDS ended in a disappointing loss. Group 4: Bare Knuckles Hockey - Bare Knuckles Hockey had a nearly perfect regular season with a record of 17-1-0. The only loss they had to mark was in their last matchup against Kaksikymmentaseitseman. Ranked 1st of all playoff teams, high-scoring right wing @Tero Paikkari (Teroe94) and his group struggled early in the first round, with the series extending all the way to a game seven. This monster of a team was taken down in the second round in another seven game series in the hands of MotherPuckers. Etelan Vetelat - Etelan Vetelat perfomed quite well as a newcomer into the ECL scene by gaining the 2nd place of their group. After losing both games in their very first regular season matchup against Bare Knuckles Hockey, they won nearly all of their remaining games. Seeding 9th into the playoffs, Vetelat got eliminated in the hands of the later champion EV Duisburg in the second round. Group 5: Cowabunga Hockey - Cowabunga Hockey was listed as a favourite for group 5 and they didn't hesitate to show us why. With a record of 15-2-1 they were the 2nd seed for this seasons Lite playoffs and had one heck of a playoff run. Nearly the same six guys tied their skates for the entire season and brought the team all the way into the finals - only to have their dreams obliterated by EV Duisburg in a sweep. Despite their difficult matchup in the finals, we are sure Cowabunga will be motivated for their next season in ECL Pro, coming back even stronger. Hippo Rangers - The Hippo Rangers had a very strong performance as a newcomer and only tiebreakers kept them from topping their regular season group. After sweeping KulmalaHengaus in the first round, they were forced to pack their bags and head for the beaches in a 2:4 series loss against Pohjoista Voimaa in the second round. With a combo of good offense, strong defense and a small but experienced squad they were a force to be reckoned with and may still be next season. Group 6: Suomen Sonnit - The Finns were on every list for this season's favourites in the Lite division. After a decent regular season (14-3-1) they handed out a sweep in the first round, only to get it handed back by Style in the second round. They had a match winner in goaltender @Theoikeakarim, who had an incredible season with just under 2 GAA in both the playoffs and during the regular season. They will learn from their mistakes and assuming we'll see these guys in Lite next season they will probably be one of the favourites to get promoted. HokiDogit - HokiDogit impressed everyone with their performance in the regular season (11-3-4) but they failed to gain confidence out of it. Unfortunately for them, they lost directly in the first round against the Bucketeers. They played a good allround game during the regular season, having good defense and decent scoring from all roster players. With more practice and experience from tight playoff games they will not make the same mistakes again and you can expect them to come back even stronger. Under the radar: EV Duisburg - The Germans flew under the radar in the beginning of the season. After turning down an offer of being promoted to ECL Pro in the offseason, EVD came back to Lite as they wanted to prove to themselves that they are worth the Pro spot. Their road to victory began as the 8th seed (finished 3rd in the group stage) and a 4:1 victory over Soldiers of Odens. @FoxGoalie and his crew eliminated Etelan Vetelat (4:2), Pohjoista Voimaa (4:0) and Style (4:2) on their way to the cup by finishing it in style with a finals sweep over Cowabunga Hockey (4:0).
