Howdy, Gamers! We told you earlier this week that there was going to be one more cool thing released before the NHL 18 Beta kicks off next Tuesday and here it is! Well, at least we think it's cool. NHLGamer Presents: ECL Talk is our brand new podcast program for the official ECL news, trades and other things that are associated with NHL gaming. How does it work then, you might ask. Basically, it's about two passionate NHL gamers talking about what is going on around NHLGamer - and sometimes outside of it. We have two hosts: @The_Alpha_Furyan and I, @vSilenttio, and we might have some guests with us talking about stuff in the future. As we tell the latest news and other things that are going on, we're also giving our personal opinions on things. We would like to emphasize that the things we say are not official words of NHLGamer - we just tell our opinions as individual gamers. Good evening, Gamers! It's now time for the Summer Cup Semifinals as we only have four teams remaining in the competition. It seems like all the big dogs (the top 4 of the regular season) have already been eliminated from the playoffs! However, the whole Summer Cup has been pretty even from start to this point, so I'm not sure if there are any underdogs in this competition. Anyways, here are the results of Round 2: NG Club Kannunkulma vs. NG Cheap Shot: 1-3NG Parolan Visa vs. NG International Army: 2-3NG Nighthawks vs. NG Trashers: 3-0NG 50 Shades of Blades vs. NG Alcohology: 3-0 The remaining two match-ups are very interesting to follow as both pairs have one clear favorite team (NG Nighthawks & NG 50 Shades of Blades) to get the chance to win those free copies of NHL18, while both less favored teams (NG Cheap Shot & NG International Army) fought for their playoff spots pretty much until the very last days of the regular season. However, they both have a great playoff-run behind them and we're pretty sure that they are not ready to give up just because their opponents might have had stronger seasons so far - at least on paper. The match-ups for the semifinals are: NG Nighthawks (5) - NG Cheap Shot (15) NG 50 Shades of Blades (6) - NG International Army (14) Stay tuned for one more cool thing before the Beta arrives - I can promise that it's something that people have been asking us to do. Good evening NHLGamers, ECL 4 is behind us and it is time to once again direct our gaze forward - towards the future. Here is what's next for NHLGamer.com; We will have ECL 4 season recaps coming up for Elite, Pro and Lite Our Xbox league is kicking off its inaugural season very soon. Xbox teams, make sure you sign up and practice hard! Our second edition of the much appreciated Summer Cup is also set to begin shortly. Keep your eyes peeled for when registrations will open plus all other details on how the tournament will work this year! There will soon be a chance to win an autographed Washington Capitals hockey jersey (Mike Green) through our social media channels - don't miss your chance to win it! All of this brings us to our final topic of the day and the reason I am writing this story: our new YouTube series called "NHLGamer Presents"! In our on-going quest to provide the best website experience possible for NHL gamers everywhere, we are always looking into different ways to produce quality content. Our latest report from the IS Cup - a feature we called "NHLGamer On The Road" Part I & II which included text, photos and video - was a sign of things to come and today we are taking another step in the same direction. NHLGamer Presents will be a recurring series featuring a variety of different content generators and Youtubers. The goal is to produce quality NHL-related content that is fun and relevant to the NHL community, but also to casual fans of the gaming series that might stumble upon them and find their way over here to our website. The first video in the NHLGamer Presents-series comes from the editor responsible for putting together our IS Cup Video; @LastMandalorian. His segment is called "NHL 17 Goalie School" and will focus on a very tough position to play in EASHL, namely that of the goaltender. Enjoy!
